What are the characteristics and personality traits of a Bridezilla?

Is there anyway of knowing if a women will be a Bridezilla before she gets engaged or starts planning her wedding?

There is no way of knowing- seeing as how becoming a bridezilla is only a reflection of how stressed you're getting over planning your wedding and coordinating everybody. The only thing i can say is be very organized and make sure friends/family really listen to the bride to be and help out.

Bridezilla is usually a virus that comes after engagement. I really don't think there is any way to predict it.
Good luck!

yes but i think

When she won't accept help from anyone and insists on making ALL the arrangements herself. And she won't hire a wedding planner.

To prevent this, all the bridesmaids should pitch in and get a good wedding planner.

There are sometimes signs, like being overly demanding, thinking they are centre of attention at all times and that their boyfriend cannot spend a moment away from their side doing their every bidding. But mostly the signs of a bridezilla only surface when the wedding date is set.

Boy do i know this all to well as I am a wedding planner and deal with this daily!
"Bridezilla" comes from being over stressed. However if the bride already has a controlling, short tempered personality, she will automatically be a bridezilla.
You can never please a bridezilla. Even the best is not good enough. She is demanding, controlling, bitchy, selfish, eager,un- enjoyable, testy, and the list continues. If you find your self snapping at people for no good reason and all the time you have the virus!
Take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy the moment of being a bride. No matter the amount of professionalism you have, no mater how much time and money has been spent, something will go wrong as it is natural. Know its not the end of the world and the important thing is you are marring the man of your dreams!

if she likes everything perfect and is very pushy then ahh here comes Bridezilla!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a mean girl... or a girl who makes a guy reconsider marriage

There are signs. If you are controlling and demanding, or if you complain alot, before you get the ring God help your fiancee afterwards.

Some women are just control freaks- and they will almost always be bridezillas. However, because this is the single biggest thing up until that point, that a woman does, it could be the single event where they act selfish and like a bridezilla Definition: A bride who believes the whole world revolves around her wedding.

no way of knowing.
every bride has a little bridezilla in her!

Unfortunately there is now way of knowing if a bride will turn into a bridezilla. It's all in how the bride reacts to the stresses, and the potential catastrophies of a wedding day.

For instance; six months before the wedding you might wonder how could someone freak out just because their flowers came out the wrong shade. But on your wedding day, you might be the one gasping and screaming that your bouquet is not as pink as it was suppose to be.

It's really hard to tell, and the only way to at least try and ward off the "zilla-transformation" is to plan ahead, get everything in writing, and leave plenty of time for if things go wrong.

If you were a bridezilla, you would be: building a perfect day and you explode when things go wrong or anyone tries to get in your way. A bridezilla would be completely self-centered and not considering the experience from her future spouses prospective, her parents who spent a lot of time money and energy raising her, and your friends who love you. It's a bad sign when nobody is having fun, not even you
