What is the appropriate amount of money to pay a preacher for a wedding ceremony?

I am getting married on Sat. May 5 and I am unsure what we should pay the preacher.

The price really varies. But my father (assistant pastor) and siblings (associate ministers) typically receive $50-100 from members of their church and $100-150 from non-members. But some couples pay less and some pay more. It really is based upon how much you can afford and feel comfortable in giving.

Ask your parents/fiancee's parents what they paid, then double it. That's probably the best thing to do. If they don't know, then I'd say about $100-200, depending on how well you know the preacher (like if you grew up in that church, you'd want to give him more).

Check with the church office to see if there is a set fee; otherwise a donation of $100 would be appropriate.
Good luck and Congrats!

fifty

usually it's called a "donation" rather than a payment. anything from $100 to $200 is appropriate.
if the wedding is out of town, you can opt to pay their hotel stay as a gift.
hope this helps :D

nothing hes a preacher and hes taken the oath to help mankind so dont pay him........

i probbably going to pay mine 150-200

We had a specific donation we were asked for by the church. $200.

I think it depends on how well you know the preacher and if you were a member of their church. But I would think $100 or so is good.
