What is the best wedding gift to a friend who took a wife recently?

I have a very good friend who married about a week ago. I couldn't attend his wedding ceremony because I was out of town for business. I need to present a fitting wedding gift to my friend and wife. Please advise what is best for a wedding gift.?

money

First check if they are registered. If so, get something off the list. If not, I highly recommend a gift card from Target. If you want something more personal, look around a store that carries engraved items such as a nice silver picture frame, just make sure you spell their names right.

Find out if they are "registered" anywhere and get a gift from the list.

Or just give them something from your heart. No matter what the gift is its the thought put behind it that counts.

Gift card!

a door knocker is always nice with there last name and year

Money!

As a couple others have mentioned, a registry is a good place to start if they have one.

If not, or if you don't wish to get them something from the list (and it's more than acceptable to choose to do this; a registry is a wish list, not an order form), then think about your friend and his lady. What do they enjoy? What special memories to you share with them?

Then find or create something that sums up who you think they are.

I know when my husband and I were married, while we appreciated and loved the things that came from our registry list, the things that showed real imagination and remind us most strongly of the givers are the ones I treasure most. It's things like the painting of a polar bear in the snow one friend did for us and the left-handed bread knife my matron of honor found for me that make my day every time I look at them, fourteen years later.

Whatever you give them, give it from the heart and give it with love. If your friend is any friend at all, he'll be touched.

a 3 dayt cruise or a ride in a limo something fun
