What should be the metal for wedding ring?

It's usually the yellow Gold that is being used as wedding rings but I'm planning to buy a white gold ones with a little diamonds in it for a change.Is it ok?I want to surprise her with that but i dont know it's ok.

I love white gold and hate yellow gold, personally. My bridal set is white gold. But you should really ask her without letting on why, or just think about what she wears now. Does she have any rings or other jewelry that she wears and are they gold or silver? It's something she's going to most likely wear forever, so if she doesn' tlike one or the other, you should probably know so that she doesn't want you to buy a new one down the road!
