What is the best way to save money on wedding flowers?

I was thinking about doing my own flowers for my wedding. I have seen quite a bit of tutorials and I am sure that I can handle it.

The company that I am using for bulk flowers has a very limited variety of flowers. Does anyone know of a company that sells bulk flowers and offers a wide selection of varieties?

Or...What is the best way to save money if I decide to use a florist?

These two websites have a great selection and good prices (The first one is a little cheaper, except for a few types of flowers) http://www.americanfloraldistributors.co...

if you use a florist, the best way to save money is to get smaller boquet's. when i went to the florist, she showed me this huge boquet of flowers for me to carry and i said i want something about 1/2 that size. she said it might look funny becuase it would be small and the bridesmaids would have bigger ones, but i said no i want the bridesmaids 1/2 size too. they looked beautiful, nobody noticed they were smaller, and they were 1/2 of the price since they were 1/2 of the normal size.

Try a big grocery store with a flower department or a local farmers market. They will probably be the most likely to give you a bulk deal and have more variety.

My sister is going to buy her flowers from the grocery store and do her own bouquets, it's much cheaper that way because they only charge a few cents a bloom, and it's a pretty big "super-store" type store, so they have a big selection.

Check if there is farmers market or something like it and do the flowers yourself.Or ask one or more of your family or friends to help but only if you know you can count on them.Sometimes people will say they will help and when the time comes they are no shows. One other thing do the table flowers have to be real flowers or maybe you can do candles.

Check out freshroses.com I got my wedding flowers there and they were great. I was able to get a lot of flowers for cheap. They have more than just roses. You can select your wedding month and they will list all your options along with pictures and color choices. They come in a few days before your wedding and they do not need to be refrigerated. They have packages and/or you can by in individual bunches.

Check out a flower market if you have one around. I know in L.A. they have one downtown. That is where my friend got a lot of her flowers and its really cheap.

Also go to farmers markets and ask various people about their flowers and rates they would give you for a wedding.

Call around to flower shops in your area. In a town near where I live, their cash and carry roses are $5.99/dozen every day, any color. I ordered about 16 dozen for my wedding and my aunt arranged them. Maybe you can find a similar price! (of course i usually only see this done with roses... if you don't want roses, then.... yeeeah... lol)

Farmer's Market. Or grow them yourself. I found some great Hydangeas a few months ago at the grocery store, so I brought them home and planted them.
