What are some good cheap centerpiece table ideas?

I am getting married and I want something nice for centerpieces but I dont want to spend alot of money. Any suggestions? The wedding is in August...is that helps.

I am getting married in September and didn;t want to spend a lot on centerpieces so I opted for this,
After lots of research I found this website 99centwholesale.com and was able to buy 4" white(they have other colors) plastic square vases (.45 each) and then I am using white carnations from the florists doing my bouquets to fill them (.25 each). My colors are blue and yellow so I a m going to wrap a yellow ribbon around the vase and place 2 on each table. Very inexpensive but still nice. Search the internet, you can find all kinds of ideas.

well first you have to see if youd like fresh flowers or candles or sumthing like that... try theknot.com it'll give u plenty of ideas...

Use candles as your focal point, rather than flowers. Flowers can be very expensive. Go to a craft store or a wholesale store. Buy different size candles, votive, pillars. Get unique vases and floating candles. Use rocks or color beads to fill inside the vases, then add the water and few floating candles. Get some flower petals and scatter them around the candle centerpieces.

do the vases that look like fish bowls and float a gerbera daisy in water in them....maybe do a little greenery and candles around the base of the bowl and wha-la, you have a centerpeice for around $15!

candles
you can get the large candles at places like the Dollar store or Wal mart. Tie a piece of ribbon around them in your colors maybe find small plates in your colors for them to sit on.

At my daughter's wedding, we bought 50 lilac and pink rose candle rings at a local dollar store. She bought boxes of votive candle holders with the candles already in them and put them into the candle rings. We sprinkled irredescent wedding confetti across the tables. We also bought glass globe candle holders and filled them with Hershey miniatures with labels on them with their names. Add colored placemats and napkins. For the bride and groom's table, we had the large glass bowls with clear marbles covering the bottom, water and lilac and pink floating candles. We bought flower swags with roses and wrapped them with pink twinkle lights and put this along the front of the table. I had purchased several wrought iron centerpieces at yard sales, spray painted them white, glued some silk flowers and ribbon on them, put some inexpensive dollar store candles on. We had two large glass vases filled with irredescent grass (like you use in Easter Baskets), put a candle on top. There were clear, tall glass vases that the bride and bridesmaids put their bouquets into on the front table, too. Everything looked beautiful!! Get creative!! It can be very inexpensive if you just use your imagination!!

My wedding is in August too! I'm going to do some glass globe bowls with some decorative rocks in the bottom with some water in it and I'm gonna put some floating candles on the top that match my colors and then I might go get some fake leaves that have a wire in them and wrap them around the bowls but not sure on the leaves yet, I could also just leave them the way they are. Flowers are just too expensive, but you could do some small flower centerpieces, I don't know just some ideas, try some magazines too. Good Luck!! : )

a nice sentiment would be a photo collage of the happy couple together, maybe pics of closest friends, depending on # of tables you'll have, you could place disposable cameras at the tables-that way your guests can remember what they want...your center piece should be something they can take home with them and I know weddings can be very costly, so don't make too much of a fuss over something your guests will take with them anyways! Good luck with your choice and congrats, best wishes on your future.

floating candles. The bowls cost $4 at Wal Mart

i got married in september. Are centerpieces were glass hearts we bought from walmart in the craft section for like 97 cents each. we put about 20 marbles in each glass heart, then filled it half way up with water and bought a little floating rose candle to place in the center of the heart. they were very cute and each centerpiece ended up only costing like under $2.00. plus after the wedding, family and friends can take them home, so they will always have a part of your wedding.
goodluck

Sea shells, and candlelight.. The shells can have glue and glitter put on them, and placed in the inexpensive votives from the dollar store with candles..
cards placed on table saying: " Like sands of the sea,
each shell glistens brighter when
shared with the one you love forever."
or other saying..
good luck..

A new idea that I just saw & it is beautiful is using fruit within a centerpiece. Much will have to do with your wedding colors, but I just saw gorgeous centerpieces that had green apples in them & pink peony flowers & leaves stuck here & there within the apples. They were fresh flowers from their own garden. Use a flower or greenery in season with fruit. It's beautiful, simple, & can be eaten & not just thrown out following the wedding.
