What's the difference between organic eggs and regular eggs?

What the chicken is fed and how it is treated to produce the eggs. Free range chickens for example.
if theres anything more than that I don't know it.

I found this on the website of an organic egg farmer. I thought this might help clarify things:

What is an organic egg?
Organic Eggs are eggs produced by free-roaming chickens that are fed certified organic feed. The eggs are certified organic by Quality Certification Services (QCS).

From more information on this website, it looks like they are fed an all vegetarian diet (you don't want to know what those mass produced, grocery store egg chickens eat--yikes!), they are free roaming (which means that they are outdoors as well as have a shelter), no drugs, hormones, antibiotics or animal by-products and that they are certified by a third party (that must be Quality Certification Services).

There is a checklist at the National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service that I have listed in a link below. It looks like companies that want to be labeled as organic must follow strict guidelines in maintaining that standard.

the chickens are fed organic food.... not all organic eggs are free range though..... organic eggs are reportd to have more omega3 and brighter yolks

the food the chickens get and how they live
but be carefull they put organic on anything these days just to put the price up

real organic eggs from farmyard or freerange chickens that eat bugs and stuff and walk around ,have a deep yellow yolk

if the yolk is pale yellow they are factory chickens living in crowded conditions eating chemical food

the only way to make sure these days that you get a good healthy egg for breakfast is to keep a few layers yourself.

The chicken was fed an organic diet rather the one with steriods and other growth hormones.

I really don't know. I raise chickens for eggs, and they eat fresh grains from the crops no chemicals are added to the food. and I'm told that they are not organic eggs.

Organic Eggs come from chickens which are fed organic foods, and let run around, not kept in shoebox like cages.

The yoke tends to be brighter too apparently, and I have noticed theyre nicer.

Farm Pride Organic hens are housed and managed strictly in accordance with organic production guidelines. The hens are only fed a specific organic mix, which is derived from grain that was grown without the application of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides or commercial fertilisers. To be accredited as an organic egg producer in Australia, eggs must be produced with a feed that is 95% organically grown grain. Logos are also applied to certify the integrity of organic eggs. Due to higher production costs and lower volume per farm, organic eggs are more expensive than eggs from hens fed conventional feed. The nutritional content of eggs is not affected by whether or not the ration is organic.

The chickens roam free to eat for organic eggs.

The chickens that produce "regular" eggs in factory farms are filled with hormones and antibiotics from the get-go. These chickens live in wire grid cages, more often than not sitting in their own feces. When the eggs are lain, a small circle is cut out of the shell on the top, exposing the inside of the egg and allowing farmers to add antibiotics and hormones to the eggs so that you and/or the chicken don't get sick from eating something that developed in an unclean and unhealthy environment.
Like many other people have said, organic eggs are free of hormones and antibiotics because the chickens are raised "free-range" in a cleaner environment, which eliminates any need for the additives. free-range chicken and eggs is found just as easily as those containing hormones, and are always the better choice. (don't be fooled by Perdue's advertisements, by the way!)
