I really want to become a vegetarian but I am allergic to almost all fruits and veggies. How could this work?

Im 17 and am just really sick of eating meat (even though I do like it). This is because I dont think that eating animals is nice. I love animals, and dont want to hurt them. i do have pets and love their personalities. I would not want someone to kill my dog so that they could enjoy the taste. I can eat veggetables if i cook them, but I dont want to be fryin up some when i want veggies. ya know?

So, if you can, just give me some tips! thank you so much! :)

and also what are some animal by-products that I should look out for?

So some cooked vegetables are ok for you? If that's true then you have no problems. There's more to vegetarians than just vegetables. Some expamples:

-Soy Products
-Kidney Beans
-Baked Beans
-Chick peas
-Bread
-Vegetarian Cheese
-Lentils
-Nuts
-Seeds
-Free Range Eggs
-Cereals
-Pasta
-Brown Rice

Check out some recipe sites and see what meals you can come up with. I know there are lots for you. Good luck and good on you.

Whoa, i am exactly like that. I love meat, but it gave it up in august because i just didn't want to eat animals. Problem was: i didn't like veggie very much, i could barely get down half a salad. Though, it has gotten better, i still don't eat as much veggies as i should. This sounds bad, but i just eat whatever i can find. For me this includes a lot of breads. Cheeses are great. I know cottage cheese is recommended, but i don't especially like it. Anyway, what i suggest is to give it a try. Before i tried, i thought that i could never do it for i was a meat eater and a veggie hater. But if you have the heart to do it, it is probably more than possible. But make sure to stay healthy! Good Luck!!

There are lots of substitutions these days, and many restaurants that have vegetarian entres as well, so you definitely would not have to eat just fruits and vegetables. I know Boca makes alot of products, and there are many other companies as well, with things like cheese, bacon, burgers, "chicken" nuggets, theres tofu, and many different ways to use it too. The next time youre at the grocery store, look in the produce and frozen section, or online, and you'll see there are numerous things to eat so not only can you become a vegetarian, but you can still eat all your favorite "meat" as well.

Stick with the veggies you can eat, but it's not just about fruits and veggies. Vegetarians eat beans, nuts, and tofu, amongst other things. I suggest looking at your local book store or on amazon.com and ordering books about vegetarians and cookbooks. I came across a book on amazon call Animal Ingredients A-Z, plan on ordering it, it talks about all the animal by products to look for. There is also a book called Slaughterhouse, it's about the inhumane treatment of the animals in the meat packing plants. I just read it this weekend, such a sad but very good book. Check it out if you find it.

Why not enroll in a cooking school,, as you learn to cook the ugly animal food,,, YOU will learn about nutrition.
as for your phobias and weird ideas,, well,,, sounds like you'll die soon.
PS
NO ,!! I don't Know ! I am 67.

Gelatin is an animal by-product. So, no more room for Jell-o.

Good for you to want to become a vegetarian, I have been a
vegetarian for many years and basically for the same reason as
you want to stop eating animals. Vegetarian do not only eat fruit and vegetables, you can eat rice, beans, potatoes and their
are many fine tofu-products in the stores. Good luck.

Do a lot of research before you take the leap. There is such a thing as unhealthy vegetarians. Just because you're not eating meat doesn't make you automatically healthier. You still have to use your brain. Also, I'd suggest reading into the list of animal by-products. While its impossible to remember them all, it will get you thinking.

you dont have to eat veggies all the time they have fake chicken sandwiches. I am a vegiterian and don't eat fruits and vegtibles all the time. you can look at alot of stuff just read the lables thats all.
