What are the pros of becoming a vegetarian?

Or at least cutting out red meat?
Thanks very much.

I've been a vegetarian for a year.
I can tell you that when I eat healthy (like making sure I get enough protien and iron) I feel great! My mood is better, I have a lot of energy and my stomach feels good. Before I became a vegetarian I had a lot of stomach aches, but now it's a lot better!
Also, I feel great about standing up for what I believe in.

Biggest benefit is the kind of feeling that you are not hurting/killing anyone for your food.

I've been a vegetarian for 4 months and i honestly have never felt healthier in my life. The only con i would have to say is that meat substitutes and like veggie burgers and stuff are a little more expensive. But other than that it's amazing. I'm never going back.

Read the book "Skinny *********"(but with no spaces) by Kim Barnouin and Rory Freedman
It will completely open your eyes to what your actually eating when you eat meat.

u will probably be healthyer eating only fruists and vegs and stuff

first of all, red meat is not vital. i am a veg. and i don't even no how meat tastes like. don't even want to know. u get the same amount of healthy stuff if u change meat into proteins like beans.u should be fine. hey my whole line of ancestors were veg. and none of us died of being veg.

For me, the best pro is that nothing has to die for my vanity. Eating meat is not necessary to live, yet an animal has to die for you to eat the meat. Therefore, it's pure vanity that the animal is paying for with its life. Distancing myself from that is the best thing for me.

In my experience....generally speaking... with a sensible vegetarian diet...

healthier

lighter

better nourished

more environmentally friendly (meat production is not efficient)

you don't feel guilty about the deaths of animals

But there are unhealthy vegetarians with a bad diet too.

well i have been a vegetarian for almost 1 year and a half now and you get more protein when you eat proucts such as boca and morning star than you would when you eat meat and you become leaner and you lose weight and you save 100 animals every year that you dont eat meat because you save those animals from being killed for there meat also the meat is injected with hormones and everything else so being a vegetarian/vegan helps you and the animals

well.. all meat not only red meat you'd be sparing your body a shitload of very unhealthy chemicals.

umm lets see.

first of all....i tried becoming a vegiterian about a month ago. I lasted a week and gave up. Its easier to just cut red meat.

pros:
1.) saves animals
2.) saving corbon being put in2 the air by cutting transportation and shipping cost
3.) red meat is XTREMELY bad for you.

None. Red meat is vital
