If you want to make a vegetarian gravy for vegetarian poutine for friends, is this a good recipe?

2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons crushed garlic
3 tablespoons white flour
1/3 cup white wine
salt, pepper
1 cup of vegetable broth made from powder and water

Cook garlic in olive oil over high heat. Add flour after allowing to brown into a roux. Make a roux, nice and smooth. Add wine and a little vinegar. Cook over medium heat. Add salt and pepper. Pour vegetable broth in and whisk till smooth. Pour over fries and top with Swiss cheese and cheddar cheese curds, then bake for ten to fifteen minutes at 375 degrees F.

Try adding marmite (yeast extract) to your gravy recipe it will really make a difference

It sounds lovely. I make gravy with veggie stock all of the time. I think I will try this recipe-thanks

sounds pretty good!

Awesome!

May I also suggest to finely chop some onion and caramelise it, then add to your gravy.

Perhaps you could saute some onion ,celery or peppers first then add the flour and proceed. How about some fresh herbs at the end?

I wouldn't object to that! It sound good. No animal products in it.

sound good to me but you can also get these packages from the grocery store that are meant as a base to meat gravy but don't sctually have any meat in them. Then you can just add some other stuff to it, or don't it is good just as is. Or miso gravy is also good but it can be quite salty. Your gravy recipe sounds good tho. This is just an idea if you want something fast and easy
