Why do we pray for peace, when we chose death for dinner everyday?

People from all religions and ways of life pray for peace. - but then we chose death by killing innocent animals everyday so we can eat, even though we have choice often better choices.

Don鈥檛 we have to give love and kindness to have love and kindness!

So true... We are committing a holocaust every day, yet so many don鈥檛 feel any guilt and no one is held accountable for any of the millions of innocent lives taken every day.

Perhaps if people realised how closely linked the plight animals and our own, they may care. If the world鈥檚 population were all vegan/vegetarian we wouldn鈥檛 have world hunger, there would be enough food for everyone. There would be less demand for fossil fuels, since intensive agriculture consumes so much. There would be less pollution in our water, land, air and less disease related to the chemicals used and cholesterol.

People continue to kill animals, because they don鈥檛 realise that by being kind to animals they are being kind to the planet, themselves and others. We are selfish beings by nature, and creatures of habit. People in power don鈥檛 want peace they simply want to maintain their authority.

I wish we could stop this unnecessary cruelty and death.

god put animals on the earth to eat.

the peace we pray for is between humans. we want to end wars, and have everyone get along. the peace does not include animals.. if you chose to be a vegitarian, that is your choice. honestly, i have never felt love or kindness from a pig.

Because people are idiots, selfish, and don't care about animals.
they just want their hamburgers.

You're right! And these people saying all this crap ughh theyre so ignorant. If people wanted peace in the world they could start small by getting these people who dont have peace with animals( GET A CLUE PEOPLE-they were here longer so we shud have peace with them, theyre still trying to adapt to our life style. Why cant we leave them alone?) We dont need them for fur. If you can have peace with nature then you can have peace for anything. You have to respect the world around you first and that includes everything that lives in it. We dont need fur-thats one thing I have an extreme hatred for! Were so advanced we dont need animals for anything really. Im not a huge fan of zoos but I do believe they show people that animals are amazing and teach you a little(some people cant travel). I believe humans and animals should just live in peace. Itd be nice that way!

Why do we pray for peace, when we chose death for dinner everyday?

Because people are praying (to an imaginary entity) for peace among humans, not the other animals.
**

I personally think the two have a lot to do with each other.

We mindlessly slaughter animals everyday, cruelly, horribly, and with no respect for their lives.. how is that fostering a peaceful world? Unrespectful death has no place within peace.

Respect has -everything- to do with peace, and the way the animals are slaughtered. has nothing t do with respect. And don't give me this "free range" ****. The legal definition of free range is that the animals are let outside for a min. of 10minutes a day. Before being shoved back in their pens, without enough room to turn around.

Even if you're not slaughering the animals yourself, knowing that it happens, and supporting the industry still, is just as bad.

To add some more to the question, not just peace(killing animals) also environment.

It takes about 2,500 gallons of water to produce a single pound of meat. According to Newsweek, "The water that goes into a 1,000 pound steer could float a destroyer." In contrast, it takes only 25 gallons of water to produce a pound of wheat.

Are you serious with this question????????? This is not a logical question. Praying for peace and eating meat have NOTHING to do with each other. I respect your dietary choice of being a Vegetarian or Vegan, but please do NOT question another's religious beleif becasue they like to eat a burger.

Because death is very healthy if eaten in moderation.
