How old should I be to become a vegetarian? |
I just want to know the age I should be to become a vegetarian. From when you are born, of course. You can be any age, but you have to make sure that you're still getting all the calories, nutrients and vitamins that you need. If you're not sure about where to start, talk to your doctor or a nutritionist to get advice. The problem with a lot of people who decide to follow a vegetarian diet is that they jump into it without considering how they're going to replace the protein and multiple other nutrients that they won't be getting as much of as they would if they were eating "normally." You can follow a vegetarian, a vegan or even a 100% RAW vegan diet at ANY stage of life. In fact I know this woman who switched to 100% RAW vegan 19 years ago, and has 3 children from ages 2~9 all of which have NEVER eaten COOKED OR ANIMAL foods in THEIR ENTIRE LIVES. Just make sure you get all the right information before switching over to a completely new diet. There is a bit you'll have to know. :) Anytime is good, the sooner the better in fact. It is a healthy lifestyle if you do it right and eat lots of fresh stuff and stay away from just eating white bread, pasta and potatoes. I wish I didn't love meat so damn much and didn't have low iron. Well i was six when i became vegetarian because after i found out what meat actually was i refused to eat it, so i would say its totally your choice. i would say you can become one at any age from 12 and up Over 100. |
