What's an easy way to become a vegitarian?

Every time I try I just have to go back to the chicken, what are some ways to stay a vegi and still get my protein without eating nuts?

Being a vegetarian is easy if you're in it for the right reasons. So far, I know people who tried to become vegetarians in high school, but gave up after not too long. I think that's stupid. Really, really stupid. If you want to become a vegetarian because of animal rights and so on, then it's simple, print out some pictures of slaughtered animals and have them around your room. Also, eating BBQ Chips is a great way to kinda get a feeling of eating meat. There are plenty of meat substitutes out on the market, and your local food store should carry at least tofu. There are loads of recipes all over the net, just make sure you read the recipes before you buy anything, you may not know what kind/type of tofu to get.

As for that whole "vegetable don't have as much protein as meat" thing; stupid. If you have even basic knowledge of what you're putting into your mouth, you know that protein also comes from nuts and actually, vegetables do have a lot of protein. If that's not enough for you, you can also get some vitamins. B12, I think. ask your doctor, their degree means more than my poor memory.

There are a lot of vegetarians in the US, but rarely any cases of kwashiorkor, a disease which is a result of lack of protein.

If you decide to become a vegetarian, I hope you stick to it for your entire life. Honestly, are you really that hungry?

Everytime you eat chicken, remember that there's Avain flu.

Everytime you eat meat (chicken or any other) remember this.
for one farm, could feed about a thousands or more living being,
but if that farm change into field of rice, it could feed hundred thousands living being.

why ? bacon is so yummy.

Vitamins.

As for going back to meat, it's all about will power

just do it

Just eat what ever you want you will be happier.

If you're so worried about eating chicken and other meats, try just eating organic chicken which are actually able to roam around in the sun and eat straight from the grass, which is the opposite of non-organic. To make your meals more appetizing, try whipping up a recipe from a veggie cookbook that you can find in your local bookstore. If you make the meals interesting enough, you're cravings will lessen and you'll be able to stay a vegetarian. By the way, you can research online (rather than asking here) about some other veggies, etc, that contain protein.

Eat "steak fries"

If you are vegetarian for animal rights reasons, I suggest watching Meat Your MEat on Peta.com. It will change your life and you will never eat meat again.

and vitamins

cheese is a really good source of protein! my sister is a vegitarian :}

well...one way might be to stop eating meat. but thats just a guess. avoid places that serve chicken as a main course. or just cut down more and more until you stop eating meat altogether. one of my friends also would douse her meat in vinegar and then would be repulsed by it so she wouldnt eat it and she trained herself to associate meat with vinegar taste. i think that was a waste, personally. as far as protein, they make some mean drinks called "protein shakes." try that.

raw milk, raw cheese, and eggs are the best sources and will also provide the B12 you can only get from animal products

dont eat meat. (or watch a movie on how they process chicken)

Actually, if you really load up on the greens, vegetables I mean, calorie for calorie, they (like broccoli for example) have like 400% more nutrients and protein than meat will ever have. Not to mention soy as well as other beans.

stop eating meat cold turkey. thats how lots of ppl quit smoking. it's kind of the same scenario

if you can't become a vegitarian then maybe you should just try to eat healthy foods even if they are meats.

JUST "SUE" ALL THE NON-VEG. FOOD IN UR HOUSE!

Beans and whole grains are a great source of protein. Soy and tofu are excellent too.

Buy The faux chicken in your grocers freezer. Quorn, Veet, Boca and morningstar farms.

just eat meat and quit worrying about it

i just became a vegetarian. its hard since you start to crave the meat you gave up. you can get protein from bread, fish, eggs, nuts, and so on. just eat the stuff you like that isn't chicken, beef, or pork. if you still crave meat, there are veggie burgers which seem like regular patties but it isn't meat. you're vegetarian, so you can still eat fish, seafood, and dairy products.

eat vegetables or phase into it by eating fish. also beans are very good too

scare yourself about that crap they put into meat thats what i did to my grandma about smoking

Stop eating meet.

There's no easy way to become a vegitarian.

easiest way to be a vegitarian is to watch those grueling videos on how they kill animals.

I'm assuming you are vegetarian and not vegan. Cheese is a good source of protein, as are beans, tofu, peanut butter, etc. Also you might try some of the veggie hot dogs, chicken nuggets, "hamburger" meat for tacos. Morning Star Farms and Amy's brands both make really good veggie stuff.
Try this website, you can order a starter booklet from them that has a lot of helpful info:

Try eating hummus on whole wheat pita bread. You can find it in the supermarket. There are all different varieties of hummus - garlic, lemon, scallion. Try eating peanut butter. I know it gets boring. I have a hard time because I have to cook lots of meat for my husband as he refuses to come over to my vegan side. I make myself vegan chili.

The only thing I cut out of my diet was red meat. Still eat chicken and turkey in small amouts occassiionally. Eat eggs, drink milk, use tofu and soy burgers, Make soups with no meat. Oatmeal, peanut butter, nuts, dairy products, some vegetables are good sources of protein.

There are plenty of protein alternatives to meat. Check out the link:

beans or soy burger. get a baca burger if you cook it in a frying pan with the right seasonings you can't tell the difference. I am not a vegetarian so that is probably the best advice I can give you. good luck.
