Why do vegetarians get mad when you eat a steak or a pork chop?

I don't care if you like to eat stuff that tastes horrible so I think vegetarians should leave me alone.

To be honest, I feel that it is just as ignorant on a veg's part to look down on what others are eating as is those who bash us for NOT eating meat.

I choose NOT to eat meat, and it would be wonderful if my family did the same. However, thay are all meat eaters and USED to give me slack for my choice, but remember...It is a CHOICE, and a personal one at that.
Yes, I hate that my hubby eats meat, but who am I to tell him what to eat?

You can educate meat-eaters til the cows come home (no pun intended....I'm lying...I meant to be corny), but to get angry is silly. I feel bad for meat eaters (my hubby included) for not understanding the whole veg thing...I've even tried to tell him it would lower his cholesterol...no luck. (He does eat MOSTLY veg with me...but then again)
Noone has any business looking down upon you for something as small as what you eat (or what lifestyle you live, if you are vegan)

In any event, ignore the comments...and don't stoop to their level...meat eater or not....

Some vegetarians find it offensive. I don't but I can see why they would be. Plus, a lot of people who aren't vegetarian tease vegetarians with offering them meat or commenting on how good their meat is and how disgusting our food is. It's almost unfair. You say you don't care if you like to eat stuff that tastes horrible so you think we should leave you alone. Well what you eat, we think taste horrible and you should leave us alone as well.

well, u shouldn't tell a vegetarian that BTW i am one so um someone had to bloodily slaughter that animal for slow painful death.................
and u wanna eat it
so dont tell vegans or vegetarians that if u wanna be left alone....................

I personally do not care what "You" eat. Your future health is your problem. I agree they should leave you alone, but do remember when you are old, in ill health & living in some old folks home do not complain that you didn't know better on how to take care of yourself. It seems you have been told.
I save my energy for my love ones.

well As someone else said it makes us angry when "Meat-eater" tell us how good the meat is and how gross or food. The worst thing that happened to me way when someone stuck chicken RIGHT under my nose. I got MAD. Or when people tell me that im killing cows because im eating only vegetables (sp). It makes me REALLY angry when people tell me how there going to eat alot of meat. Im like good for you and walk away. What im getting to here is the fact that people are sometimes CLUELESS about what they put in there mouth and what that animal went threw. That makes really really MAD.

i am vegetarian and i get mad at meat eaters all the time, for murdering and eating my friends

Not many vegetarians would get this excited, but those freaks the vegans probably would.

Tell them to bugger off and go root for nuts and berries. They are freaks and give a bad name to vegetarians.

i think you're imagining things.

Who's bothering you? I don't give a dam* what you eat. Why are you bothering me about it?

at work, i eat around people who eat meat products all the time. when i eat with family, they eat meat. as a vegan, it bothers me very slightly that they eat what they do, but i never, ever let it show nor do i ever say anything about it to them.

in my personal experience, i find that it is some omnivores that do not leave me alone. i have a couple of people at work who CONSTANTLY mention that i am a vegan... as if it was disease and important for the whole world to know. one co-worker always teases me about being "not normal" and "loving the planet". the other always brings it up in conversations somehow: "oh, i forgot, you can't have this carrot cake 'coz you're a veeeegggaan..."

please don't lump vegetarians into one biased stereotype. it's just as easy for me to say that all meat-eaters are [fill in the blank here], but i won't do that out of respect for every individual on this planet. is it fair for me to label all meat-eaters based on those two co-workers of mine and the trolls who come on y!a?

Well you're combining all the vegetarians in the world into one little stereotype.
I'm a vegetarian, and I would not get mad, nor go on a long speech of animal terror, if you ordered that. I'm pretty used to it.

Go ahead, eat your meat.
It's your funeral.

Then why advertise
It is nonsense
why post
5 points wasted

I have found that NEW vegetarians are more like this than those that have been veg for awhile. I think it is because they feel defensive at first, with so many people telling them not to bother, they will get sick, etc.

Not all vegetarians care if someone else eats meat. I personally don't care, but if someone is just being an *** and keeps going "here, try this" while shoving their burger in my face, then I would get mad.

Most veggies can respect your choices, so long as you respect theirs. As I said though, new veggies might have just learned about factory farming and meat production, so they can't stop thinking about it and will just say what comes to their mind.

If you want to be left alone with your food choices, I would recommend saying simply "What I choose to eat is my own choice. I don't question your choice of diet, so please don't bother me about mine" but then, I also recommend that veggies say this to their meat eating friends who can't respect their decisions either.

cause they're jealous that you're eating better food than they're eating...see denis leary's no cure for cancer for a better explination.

Because they are weird. Mmmm....steak....
