There is more protein in an avocado than in a steak and it does not give off obnoxious gases when growing up!

Food. Just like anyone else.

Vegetarians get their protein from food, just like anyone else.

Sources include soy beans and soy foods (tofu, tempeh, edamame, tvp, faux meats,) beans and other legumes (lentils, peas, peanuts, peanut butter, chickpeas,) whole grains, nuts, seeds, even fruits, vegetables and mushrooms. Not to mention eggs and dairy products if they still eat those.

The fact is, we need far less protein than most of us believe, too much is detrimental to our health, and true protein deficiency is nearly unheard of in the developed world.

Well, my main source of protein is in Iraq right now...

OH. not that kind of protein? ;)

Look at your veggies, your grains and your fruits. A LOT of them have hidden proteins. Nuts as well. =)

Beans--the GOOD kind that most people haven't heard about. Or lentils. With rice is great.
Great foods are lasagna/pasta, breads (many kinds), pizza (with mushrooms/olives/bell peppers/etc.) There's a ton, that's only some special favorites.

There is a lot of places you can get protein. Go to a specialty health food store and they have a whole isle with things (in Canada anyway). They will have soy protein in the form of meat like hot dogs and sausages and meat balls but they all contain no meat. They even have like soy protein breast that look like chicken breasts. They taste great i think.

Some other food sources would be beans, nuts, peanut butter, bean sprouts, cheese, soy protein (so veggie burgers, veggie hot dogs), you can get soy protein that looks like ground beef so you can make like tacos and put it in your pasta sauces, soy protein balls (they look like meat balls but have no meat at all), tofu, milk, yoghurt, alot of cearls also have protein, and alot of those breakfast drinks have a good source of protein.

Hope this helps.

Beans served over a bed of rice is a complete protien

Mostly from bean curd

tofu
milk
beans
nuts

Rice combined with beans makes a complete protein.
