What are some major sources of protein? |
I've just become a vegetarian and i want to make sure i dont miss out on the protein i need. PROTEIN IN LEGUMES: Garbanzo beans, Kidney beans, Lentils, Lima beans, Navy beans, Soybeans, Split peas I've been a vegetarian for 2 years now! First of all, there is actually a lot of protein in the fruits and vegetables you're already eating. Beans and Nuts are also an excellent source of protein as well. Some people get a boring idea in their head when they hear the old "bean and nut" routine about vegetarians. There are many ways to incorporate beans into almost anything you wish. Check out www.allrecipes.com for ideas. My favorite (and most simple) way to eat nuts is just unsalted nuts and raisins mixed together. I take a little bag to work with me everyday just in case I need a little snack. There is also protein in tofu and many ways to cook it. If you're really trying to be a healthy vegetarian avoid all highly processed foods, frozen foods, pre-packaged foods etc. If you don't know what an ingredient in the nutrition label is, then don't eat it! That should go for everyone! here are some good sources of protein nuts and seeds eggs and milk...... vegetable protein, soy protein, cheese......... I think its vitamin B12 that is missed by vegetarians who don't realise its not abundant in meat, eggs, fish... Beans, tofu, soymilk, almonds, peanut butter http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/nutrition/... unsalted nuts are good for protein NUTS!!! yeps nuts major sorce of protein beans peas all pulses salad nuts eggs alot of things are made of protien dont worry Amazingly Jimmy is spot on..... pasta sperm |
