How long does Tofu last after expiration date?

I've got a tofu that hasn't been opened, and is in the fridge, but it's expiration date was the 13th. I have no idea about anything that has to do with tofu, so is it still good?

Generally, I toss food that has expired. The expiration date is there for a reason. I don't like to take chances. Sometimes, if it has only been 2-3 days, I'll use it. Make sure it doesn't smell bad!

13th Sept is ok, just drain it and cook it in a stir fry, we can freeze our Tofu and use it years later. It needs de-frosting and draining but it works.

They really do not mean as much as people tend to think they do. Mostly the date just means that the food may not be as tasty. Expiration dates are not even mandatory(except on infant formula).

If the tofu seems ok, then use it. If you have any doubts about it then chuck it in the trash.

It will last up to a year after the expiration date.

Like any perishable product, you need to check for an expiry date. (If the tofu smells sour, throw it out). Also, depending on the type of packaging, it may need to be refrigerated immediately. Either way, once you've opened it, cover the leftover tofu with water and store it in the refrigerator, being sure to change the water daily. (Some cooks advise using distilled instead of regular tap water). The tofu should last for up to a week.
