What make up brands do not test on animals or use animal byproducts?

I'm transitioning to a vegetarian diet for ethical reasons and would also like to make sure that products I'm using are not tested on animals and do not contain animal byproducts. I can't afford "designer" brands like clinique, but if anyone knows of drugs store brands that are vegetarian-friendly please let me know!

Here's a list of cosmetic companies that don't test on animals:

Of these, Revlon is probably the easiest to find at drugstores.

I'm not aware of any drugstore make-up brands that don't contain animal by-products... there are animal by-products in just about everything, including film, medicine, and even car tires. So, I would just focus on finding products that aren't tested on animals. More on this:

Good luck!!

Burt's Bees is made with honey, royal jelly, lanolin and dairy products - so it's not animal byproduct free.

Body shop products are not tested on animals, but they contain animal byproducts like dairy, honey and gelatine. They are not cruelty-free. Body Shop's parent company is L'Oreal, and they do massive animal testing, as well.

There aren't cruelty free drugstore brands, I'm afraid. You can try Urban Decay.

Or you can try Lush.

Many companies avoid animal testing; it's very difficult to find one that doesn't contain animal byproducts. Even the brands from Whole Foods or Trader Joes do, for the most part.

St Ives, Bodyshop, Burts Bees
read your labels

I believe Burts Bee's is. You can find it at Target, Safeway, etc.

kiss my face. - is great, - no animal ingredents, or animal testing http://www.kissmyfacewebstore.com, http://www.kissmyface.com/

Jason. - is great, - no animal ingredents, or animal testing

I am proud of you for making the better choice!

The Body Shop - neither finished products nor ingredients within them are animal tested: http://www.thebodyshopinternational.com/

I'm not sure about stockists (I'm from the UK, where they're a high-street brand), but the above international site should be able to help.

You have to be careful with a lot of products; the manufacturers claim that they don't test their products on animals - but they don't mention that the ingredients are often animal tested. You want to see a label which specifically mentions that ingredients as well as product are not animal tested.
