What kind of food should vegetarians eat?

I want to know brands of food that are vegetarian foods. Also how can i get the protein?

Im thinking of becoming one..but i want to know how to make up for lack of protein..and would i still be vegetarian if i had eggs?

eat foods with a lot of protein. if you're anemic by any chance [which i am and results in me not being able to be vegetarian anymore] make sure to get a lot of iron too. supplements may need to be taken. and yes, dear. eggs are vegetarian, just not vegan.

Despite how much people talk about protein, you probably won't have any trouble getting enough, especially if you're still eating dairy and eggs (which are vegetarian). Most Americans get way more protein than they actually need. Just make sure you include beans and whole grains and you shouldn't have to worry about it.

Amy's Kitchen is a brand of frozen food that is all vegetarian; you should be able to find it at most well-stocked supermarkets. Also check out Morningstar Farms, Boca, Gardenburger (also in the freezer section) and Lightlife (usually in the produce section with the tofu).

Well, vegetarians don't consider eating chicken BAD. And yes,you will still be a vegetarian if you ate an egg. The chick in the egg hasn't formed inside yet so your not really eating a living creature.
I'm a semi-vegetarian and I think (in my opinion) it's better than being a full vegetarian. For one,I actually get meat in my body that I need.

Full vegetarians don't eat meat...so their bones will be quite weak or sensitive.

It's just an opinion...I don't have anything against vegetarians. I'm just saying it might be a bit better to handle with.

You might want to consider rice, corn, beans, broccoli, bread(with some sort of topping),pizza..or any other foods that seem fine to eat.

for one, yes you will still be a vegetarian for eating eggs. if you were vegan, however, that would not be acceptable.

morning star makes fantastic vegetarian burgers and chicken-like foods. seriously, i am not a vegetarian but i still choose to eat them. there is usually a section in your grocery store with vegetarian meals.

you need to be eating beans and whole grains, to make up for the protein. you might also want to consider tofu: it isn't bad, whatever people might say. just make sure you season it well.

with this diet you also have to mind the minerals and vitamins that you are lacking or getting in a reduced amount. so I would recommend getting a good multi vitamin and using Braggs Amino Acids (soy sauce sub).

for protein you can use a wide variety of protein shake mixes and increase the legumes in your diet.

For your protein, try to eat from a variety of different protein sources. These includes: whole grain, brown rice, and legumes (chickpeas, beans, lentles). Soy is also a very good source of protein and contains very little carbs.

Make sure you are eating a robust amount of vegetables and fruits. The easiest way to do this is encorporate many foods of different colors. A colorful salad is healthier than a very green one.

Some people become vegetarians by switching meat with dairy products and carbs to make them feel full. When people do this, they can gain weight. Make sure you eat lots of vegetables instead to fill you up. Also, don't forget to use good fats and oils (monosaturated and polysaturated). This will help you stay fuller for a longer time.

Some really good food to encorporate: flax seeds. If you are not eating eggs, obtaining Omega-3 fatty acids can become hard. Flax seeds is a great source of this acid.

Iron is harder to absorb with this diet. Spinach and vegetables that are dark green contain a good amount of iron. If you feel sluggish or tired, there's a high chance your iron levels are low. If this happens, start taking an iron suppliment, actively eat vegetables with iron, or eat iron enriched grain.

This website is a great source to find which foods contain which nutrients.

It's great, I love it.

If you are worried about not getting enough protein, try recording what you eat with.

It's easy to use and good for tracking your intake.

There is no lack of protein in a vegetarian diet if you eat balanced. I eat a variety of whole grain items, beans, nuts, veggies, fruits.
