How are veal calves reared in Australia?

I love veal Osso Bucco. But, is rearing veal here similar to Europe where the calves used to live in crates and are fed a very limited diet?

Good question, I thought I'd posted this in general food and drink, however it's not a bad category as if vegetarians are not eating meat because of animal husbandry methods then they will obviously be the right people to ask.
