Is it normal for Shirataki tofu noodles to foam up when you rinse them?

I bought some and followed the package directions, I shook them in a collander to get out the water and they foamed up like they had soap in them. Then I was convinced they tasted like that also, so I did'nt eat them. I have alot of food phobias. Was this normal or could there have been something wrong with them?

I am not sure if Tofu noodles have starch in them like regular noodles..but I know that sometimes when I cook noodles they have a soapy look to them..but they are fine...I think its something with the starch.

I doubt that there was anything wrong with them per se. but your pot or colander may have been contaminated by improper rinsing. They ought not to foam up like a bubble bath at all.
