I am trying to start a clean vegetarian lifestyle but I want to also stay lean and trim.?

Alot of the food suggestions seem to be full of starchy food loaded with calories. Does anyone have suggestions?

DO NOT LISTEN TO fox_hunterguy,just look at the questions he posts and you'll know what I'm talking about.

To stay healthy this is what i eat during the week,on the weeknends I usually eat whatever.

B.Fast Fruit and veggie smoothie with rice protein and on the side some toast or a bagel with jelly

Snack nuts(almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower, any kind is good)

lunch beans(refried, chili,or baked) and rice(brown, white,or spanish)

snack bowl of raw veggies and fruits or plain salad

dinner vegetable spaghetti, veggie spring rolls, roasted veggies( I usually cook my dinners on the weekends so I can just heat them up)

I just try and stay away from processed foods, stick to only drinking water and I'm sure you'll be fine

Most veggies I know are fit and trim...

I am not, however, as I still am a fan of dairy (huge source of fat).

Veggie foods full of calories tend to be highly processed, which everyone should avoid (including faux meats!).

Fruits and veggies, brown rice, and such are highly nutritious and have very little fat and tons of fiber to fill you up quickly. Depending on the preparation, all your calories are from healthy sources (no/low fat).

You should have no problem staying "lean and trim" on a veggie diet. Most people lose weight after switching.

White breads, white rice, etc. Yeah, those are bad, but... they are bad even in an omnivorous diet.

You don't have to replace meat with high fat dairy alternatives. Stick to lots of fruit, vegetables, and grains. You get plenty of all the right nutrients (including protein), without all the bad fats of a meat diet that clog up your arteries and can lead to all sorts of horrible diseases.

Just stay away from animal fat and all forms of sugar. Don't eat too much bread and potatoes

Just transferring to a veggie diet is likely to improve your health regardless of anything else you do, its a great start. To remain lean and trim you need to keep your muscle bulk working. This means some exercise.

Keep away from pre-prepared meals and convenience foods, make your own meals from raw ingredients rather than processed foods.

Eat lots of fresh fruit, veg and salad...I went from a size 14 to a size 10 and I am the healthiest I have ever been

My son is vegetarian and he is very skinny. All he eats is whey, vegi burgers, and other vegi fake meats. He eats other things too, but that's usually his meal, or soup or eggs, or something like that. Hope this helps!
