What are some good meatless meals at fast food restaurants ? |
I am trying to become a vegetarian, but I'm always on the go. What are your favorite meatless meals, that you've created, or a restaurant offers that you like ? bean borritos at taco bell. I'm not a vegetarian, (yet, I'll start soon enough), At Chipotle, the black beans, the rice, the tortillas, the taco shells, the salsas, and the fajita veggies are all vegan. The pinto beans, unfortunately, are made wtih pork. Get like 4 or 5 apple turnovers at Arby's. Taco Bell: stir fried veggies with tofu, noodles, veggie pizza, veggie urgers, veggie sandwiches and if u like spicy foods then try indian cuisine mainly southindian cuisine.they have lovely dishes like sambhar idli, dosas, different kind of rices etc etc. and lovely desserts too. but searsly its fast food Bean burritos. The Subway veggie delight rules all. Most fast food restaurants have some sort of a side salad- though that's not very filling. Taco Bell's bean burrito is okay. I tried BK's veggie burger and to me it seemed kind of soggy and gross. Subway or any other sandwich shop is always a good bet for filling vegetarian food. Places like Noodles and Chipotle have a lot of great vegetarian options. Well, you can always be on the lookout for ethnic fastfood places, they might offer things like a vegetable curry or cucumber sushi rolls. As far as the major chains go, I think KFC is actually kind of good for vegetarians- they have coleslaw, macaroni & cheese, biscuits, potato wedges, and other meatless sides. I've long been a fan of getting a meatless whopper with cheese at Burger King and filling it with fries- sounds weird, but it's yummy, and french fry sandwiches as such are actually really popular in the UK and Australia. Taco Bell will adjust many of their menu items so that they are made with beans and not meat as well. Good luck in finding something that you like! At sit down resterants... I go for the veggies...and anything pasta...you can always get plain pasta and add in veggies...fetuchini alfredo plain or with veggies is wonderful. Don't go to any steak houses...Texas Roadhouse has nothing else but rice, green beans, and a salad...steakhouses SUCK. I eat SUBWAY..or a wrap minus the meat at ARBY's...I eat whatever I want at TACO BELL...I pick what I want and tell them to replace the meat with beans ONLY. I get veggie burgers at BURGER KING. Make sure you tell them to cook them in the micorwave..they are supposed to but I have had a few messed up....if you don't care if it was cooked on the grill with meat then that doesnt' apply. I also get breakfast items at all of places...and there is always the salad...I really don't eat much of those though...You can also get burgers without the meat too but those are not much good..but will work when there are no other options. I find my best bet for fast food is anything Asian or Mexican. Cheese and egg buiscuts at tim hortons or mcdonalds. broccoli soup at tim hortons. Pancakes at mcdonalds .. fries, every fast food chain .. i don't eat meat and i dont support KFC OR taco bell since they have the nerve to serve GRADE D meat. i really like subway!! I eat a lot of bean burritos at Taco Bell, and that is about the only place I eat. Maybe a salad and fries at Wendys every once in a while. If you are "on the go", you might want to google "Flexitarian Diets". Flexitarian Vegetariansim is for thinking people who have a life as you do. |
