Should I quit my job? I work at a restaurant that serves meat and I feel strongly that the meat industry?

and all of agribusiness really is not working in our best interest. I think I might be better off working at the organic vegetarian restaurant down the street.

If I were you I would quit... Do what makes you happy... Plus you have to stand up for what you believe in... I'm a vego and I wouldn't work in a restaurant that served dead animals!!

Don't be so obtuse.

You should just stay where you are and be thankful that in today's economy you're lucky enough to have a job to begin with. A lot of people are scrambling for jobs and you're thinking of quitting yours just because you don't eat meat? Give me a break.

As long as its a good move for you

By all means, apply at the vegetarian place down the street, but don't quit your current job until you have a new one.

I want some of what cool yogi is smoking.

Do it!

do yourself and your customers a favor and move to teh rest. down the street.

YOU DIDNT MENTION WETHER OR NOT THIS IS BECAUSE OF RELIGIOUS VALUES .. YOU DID STATE PERSONAL OPINION AND THAT IS OK , FIRST before u make a decision based on a personal whim be sure what the working conditions are at the other restraunt u wish to work at, .
DO U HAVE A PERERED SHIFT ?/ ALL THIS MUST BE BROGHT INTO THE FOREFRONT., do others here work at grocery store chains that are themselves vegans? do they not also serve or purchase meat products and some which the bible says is unclean?
what about vegans that work where gambling is sought after like gas stations or convienient stores?? do we all quit our jobs because who we are employed with doesnt uphold our value?? mj

Only leave your job if you've got another one to go to. It's a fortunate person who can pick and choose where they work, and many vegetarians and vegans work in places like your restaurant because they have to pay the rent and put food on the table.

Those people saying 'Ew - I couldn't work with meat!!' are either very fortunate to have found a job they can live with, or else somebody else is supporting them financially, probably their parent/s.

In the real world we do what we have to do. If the place down the street has offered you a job, take it. If they haven't, stay where you are until they do, unless you are lucky enough to be able to afford not to work.

That's up to you, but see if you can get hired at the vegetarian restaurant before you quit.

It depends on how bad you need the job and how many options you have.

I am college educated now, but I used to work in restaurants when I was young. Sometimes I had to work at jobs I didn't really like simply because it was the only job I could get at the time.

Nobody can tell you to quit or stay there. YOU decide what you are okay with and what you're not. If you don't plan on staying at that restaurant forever you should always be looking for something better anyway.

Quit, quit, quit.

off-course you should leave this job becasue your vegetarian.

Absolutely, you should quit. From the point of view of karma, every person who is involved, directly or indirectly, in the slaughter, handling, transportation, packing, serving, or eating of meat is equally culpable.

If you think about it, why is it that not only the murderer of a human being, but also someone who aids them in hiding their act or in escaping is deemed guilty by the state? That's the exact logic with meat. People might not buy it, because they are addicted to meat, but that is the reality. Denying the laws of nature does not make them any less potent!

I that's the way you feel, then you will be happier working in a place that matches your food ethics. There may not be a job there for you though. I admire your conviction.

I would probably wait until I had another job, wouldn't you?

No

who gives a fk? pass the steak and au jus sauce !!!! time to kill some chickens !!!!

why the hell would you want to work with the meat industry, thats discusting, have you seen the new Texas Chainsaw Massicre, it shows the links between eating meat and becoming a murderer
