Why would a vegetarian want veggie chicken or veggie cheese? |
If it is a life style why would they even want something that resembled meat or cheese? Or are some not as dedicated to their cause as they let on? I have read several responses but no real answers. I hope there are more people not eating meat. Makes my dollar go farther. If it is a life style why would they even want something that resembled meat or cheese? The whole point of going veg is to boycott the meat industry. It does not hinder the cause to eat simulated versions of the foods we consider unethical, nor does it cause any creatures pain and suffering nor cost them their lives. When most people become a vegetarian, it is hard for them to ajust to eating "just fruits and veggies..", so veggie burgers and vegan cheese are their transittion foods, to help then not feel deprived of "normal" foods. I don't get why this question comes up over and over again. I'm "dedicated to the cause" as you put it, of not killing animals for my food. I never made any pledge not to murder soybeans. Why can't people understand that veg*ns want as much variety in their diets as anyone else does, we just don't want to eat dead animals. Good Question most vegitarians will still eat cheese but vegans wont eat cheese unless its veggie cheese. Im a vegan and i was grocery schopping one day and saw these two products i thought it was really stupid as you said to want to eat something that taste like these two things. I have two answers for you. One would be people buy these if they are new to the hole "vegitarian or Vegan " thing. and they are used to eating meat and cheese. Another answer would because most people like meat and cheese they just dont like the way animals are treated. So they buy the products that kinda resemble what they arent aloud to eat because they like the simular taste just not the way its produced. well, as a vegetarian myself,I would never any form of chicken no-matter how veggie it may be, however we don't dedicate to not eating cheese, its not meat it just comes from an animal, you are thinking of a vegan there and not all vegetarians are vegans. just because they don't support animal cruelty, doesn't mean they don't still like the taste of meat or cheese..so eating that faux meet and cheese doesn't mean they aren't dedicated to their cause. if you reread your question it doesn't make sense..i don't know how else to explain it to you I do not understand either. It would seem to me that if you take a moral stand on something you should not equivocate about it. But I question many vegans common sense about how they make their decisions. Peta and many special interest groups can pick a few instances and harp on them. I can make a similar statement and draw a similar conclusion about college students. I read some responses that almost answered and then the word murder or abuse would pop up and ruin it. I will give you the same answer I gave someone who asked this question yesterday. yeah I'm a vegetarian and don't get that either. I'm a lacto-ovo so I eat cheese but I don'tunderstand that. I get soy milk because you kinda have to have soe kind of milk it's impossible to live without it. I don't think veggie brgers really resemble a hamburger because it's not vegiie hamburger it's veggieburger. its not that i dont like the taste of chicken or cheese, its that i despise the **** they put the animals through to produce those food No idea! I think this has more to do with your upbringing. Many of us were not raised vegetarian, we were used to eating meat and dairy. Recipes we are familiar with contain these ingredients. The "cause" is NOT to eat flesh and last time I checked, vegetarian "chicken" was never flesh. That's the point and the only point. Stop worrying about other people's dedication and start worrying about your own. vegetarians can eat animal products as long as the animal isnt killed in the process ( milk, cheese, butter but nothing with eggs.) vegans cant eat anything that comes frm animals. eggitaians are the same as vegetarians xcept they can also eat eggs and other things made with eggs. the common thing in all r that they dont have meat or fish but they can have animal crackers. oh my god so sick of this question being asked. its quite simple - we need to eat! vegetarians do not eat animals and since cheese contains animal rennet we cannot eat this! it takes all kind.... |
