What is the number one killer in rural India?

Also, what do people in India usually eat? Do they have a higher population of Vegans and vegetarians then any other country? Shouldn't their be a different number one killer then?

Look it up before giving an answer.

Most Common Causes of
Death in India 2002 (in %)

Cardiovascular diseases 27%

Interesting factoid:
"India has about 9.5 million deaths a year, or about one-sixth of deaths worldwide, according to a research article in the February 2006 edition of Public Library of Science Medicine. It says more than three-quarters of deaths in India occur in the home and more than half of these do not have a certified cause."

India has a large population of lacto-vegetarians. When I last checked, dairy still had cholesterol in it. Report Abuse

Hello,

For my latest readings, it is 'Child Infanticide.' Especially for girls.

You see, in India, boys are much preferred to girls. This is because of the traditional DOWRY (a gift of cows or money), to the proposed bridegroom's family) before marriage.

And this is the responsibility of the girl's family.

And that could be a very expensive expectation for a poor family.

That is why BOYS are preferred. Because their families do not have that responsibility.

Cardiovascular Disease.......

I have no idea i have no intention to look it up I will just wait till you tell us the answer to this as you clearly already know it.

genocide

The leading cause of death in India is chronic diseases. I'm not sure why this is being asked in the vegetarian & vegan area. The main reason for these deaths, according to the oxford medical journal, is because of lack of modern medical facilities. Their diet does not play any role in the cause of deaths.

I looked it up and the answer is "YER MAMA"

cardiovascular disease..most indian's are probably vegetarians..the cow is sacred to them..but they can still eat chicken and other things..
