How would you change the worlds intrastructure so that the world could turn vegan?

Yes, I know giving up animal products is a start but how would do so without having to move them from there homes or by lowering there standard of life .

First of all, only countries like the USA eat a lot of meat.
Most people in the world really do not pig out on meat. Many cannot afford to buy it at all. Not because of standard of living, but due to the fact the the government does not subsidize their meat production as the USA & Canada does. See, in order to keep meat prices low, tax dollars are used to pay the meat producers to lower the costs. Meat producers don't even pay for water. Thus, one pound of cheap ground beef costs, what? Well, it would cost at least $40 per pound without the subsidizations. This is why in other countries they buy one piece of meat for the whole family for a week, simply because of the cost. Also, a lot of meat is produced in other countries with basically what we'd call slave labour. This makes our BigMacs a much lower price too. All we need to do is stop the subsidization of meat, and instead subsidize the organic fruit and vegetable farmers. Also, put a stop to abusing these poor nations, start paying them a fair price for their services.

It will never happen.

But just look around, prices of everything in general is going up up up up... I just walked past the cheese section the other day and a block of no-name cheese is $8! Wow. Most people these days are spending all of their money on rent, food, electricity and there's nothing left for anything else. Soon, most won't be able to afford electricity, then it will be rent, then... food... Will they cut out their more expensive foods such as meat? Maybe. I'm already seeing people in the check-out spending all their money on meat then they have little left for anything else.

A few collecting rain water for their animals in poorer nations does not offset the massive use of resources used on a global scale. Standard of living is completely subjective. Very simple to make people pay the true cost of their animal foods and naturally they will buy less of it due to cost. Report Abuse

You can't change the world to live or eat by your standards.....

what is an intrastructure?

I wouldn't. If you want to be vegan, that's your problem. Don't act as if you have to "fix" the world to make it conform to your beliefs. You've made your choice, I've made mine.

And who's standard of life are you referring to? It's a bit vague.

If we charged the real price for meat and meat products the world would gradually move away from them.

Currently the argiculture grant systems are heavily weighted towards meat production because of the goverment lobbying from meat processors.

remove that system, and people will not pay $30 / lb for thier burgers.

You mean infrastructure. And you couldn't. I would stop you. And I am here watching your information source anyway. And for every animal you don't eat, be assured that I make the sacrifice and eat three.

Irradicate poverty. When people are no longer financially compelled to torture sentient beings for money, it will no longer be societably acceptable for them to do so.

Why would you want to do that anyway?

I wouldnt.

if everyone wanted it enough it would be done. the infrastructure isnt the problem, people are the problem :/

Put everyone in factory farms for a year and see how they like it. Then again I suppose it's seen as ok to do it animals but if it were humans I'd be called Hitler.

Hmm that's a toughie. I don't think there is any plausable way except for people gradually seeing the light and changing their views... this will probably take hundreds of years though. Unless I was god and had the power to cause instant disease if someone ate/used animal products.

I've always thought a really powerful mainstream film about the reality and cruelty behind animal products would help the cause... I don't know why any vegans in the film industry or vegan millionaires haven't made one already.

Kill off all the animals, that is the only way. You can't eat what isn't there. Now, only the cannibals are left to deal with.
