Im a vegitarian and i need to know some simple foodds to bring to church retreat? |
actually im 100% vegan, but none of the other girls on this all girl trip are vegans so ive decided not t be a pain in the butt and bring my own food. aall i need is one breakfast, & 1 lunch. what ever i decide to bring needs to be able to stay out in room temperature. i was thinking like a salad for lunch, but what for breakfast? any ideas would be nice. please remember that a vegan doesnt drink milk or anything to do with animal soy milk wont be available. so cereal doesnt work. thank you in advance. nothing that needs heat to be prepared becuase im not sure if my hotel will have a microwave or anything. im pretty sure it will have a refridgerator though. Mac and cheese is always good for a forest get together, which is what it sounds like you are describing. Make it more filling by adding sliced hot dog or mini dog. mochi rice is good I know the feeling! My church had a beach camp last year I brought: peanut butter and bread, canned goods, oatmeal and fresh fruit. For snacks I brought dried fruit and cheerios. (As far as I know cheerios are vegan.) A couple cans of baked beans and salad for both breakfast and lunch. Some fresh fruit like an apple or orange. Don't forget the can opener. breakfast bar, bagel and peanut butter, apple slices and peanut butter, hardboiled eggs, fruit, orange juice, leftover spaghetti (its so good cold), leftover vegan pizza-- my fave breakfast, also good cold A quick and easy breakfast wrap consisting of tortilla, peanut butter, banana and apple slices and raisins. Rice cakes and marmite, bagels and vegan cheese, fruit salad ? Kashi Granola bars are excellent for breakfast! The chewy ones are not vegan but the hard ones are . . . right now they have a nice, crunchy "Pumpkin Spice Flax" bar! How about some instant oatmeal? Or some granola with raisins? You don't need milk for either one. You don't really need heat just hot water. hamburger |
