Why do I love animals but hate dogs?

I think because humans treat dogs like humans, dress them up and carry them aroung like purses. There is just somehting about dogs that I link to humans, maybe its because people treat dogs so well and say they love animals, but still eat meat. Do any other vegetarian animal lovers out there feel similar? Just curious, cause I guess its kinda hypocritical of to love all other animals but filthy dogs...I hate dogs!

It really is just a matter of preference. It's like people saying they like reptiles, but are just kinda freaked out by snakes. Or that people say they love bugs but are terrified by praying mantises. No one really knows exactly why this is your opinion, it just is your preference.

I wouldn't want to see a dog be in pain, suffer or die. I hate the idea of puppy mills, dog abuse and abandoned dogs. I would go out of my way to help a sick or injured dog on the side of the road...with puppies and everything. I actually like old/well-behaved dogs that are quiet and friendly. And let's face it, there are some pretty cute puppy pictures out there.

But none of that means I want to share MY house with a dog. The reality of dogs is that most of them have the irritating habits of barking, jumping and sniffing crotches. Many drool, dig around in garbage and smell bad. All of them aren't tidy enough to use a litter box. Basically, my idea of a bad house guest in almost every way.

Well, dogs are friendly animals. Most of them protect humans and their owners.

Maybe you should buy it, read it and your hate for dogs will slowly go down.. It will tell you why you should love dogs. Theres no reason to hate them.

How could you hate dogs? or any animal for that matter, I have 4 dogs 2 chihuahuas, 1 boxer and a Brussels Griffon, why are you judging the people who like to dress there dogs and carry them around? Some dogs like chihuahuas need a little sweater in the winter to keep them warm I don't put a full outfits on my dogs thats not my thing, people who love there pets and still eat meat does not make them bad people or hypocrites.

Hating dogs based on a handful of people with "purse pets" is just ludicrous. Have you ever met a golden retriever? Had one smile at you? Anyone who doesn't grin in return is simply dead inside.

Tiny dogs in outfits are not my cup of tea either- (give me a yellow lab anyday!) but remember, the DOG didn't pick out the clothes, or tell its owner to eat meat. They've done nothing to deserve hatred.

Your reasoning doesn't make sense at all. You love animals but hate dogs? You say that dogs are filthy, as if dogs are the only "dirty" animals? Maybe you're jealous of dogs because they're treated better than you are and you can't stand it. Don't take your insecurities out on the dogs. They did nothing to you.

Well, what do you mean you "hate" them? You don't care if they are treated cruelly? Or you just find them annoying? If you don't care if they are treated cruelly, than what is your basis for loving other animals? Dogs are sentient beings. If you just find them annoying or whatever, than I don't know...you just do. I don't think it's an issue.

Dogs do demand a lot of time and energy- I think they are more demanding than children in certain respects. And they repay that time and energy back to their owners (and others)- which is probably why they are in turn treated so well. I don't think the phrase "man's (sic) best friend" is an overstatement.

I love dogs, but I don't think I want to own one. Personally, I'll take a cat any day!!

i don't hate dogs but i do think it isn't fair.They are treated like humans, yet chickena nd cows and other animals are being slaughtered right now for us to eat and dogs are riding front seat in the car.I LOVE DOGS.but HATE how they treat them compared to other animals.

dogs are the most domesticated animals in the world (beyond other humans) so that might be your objection.

I remeber a Heinlein book that specifically said he didn't like dogs because they were too much like slaves, unlike cats that have a mind of their own.

i don't hate dogs just because other people like them?
but it does annoy me when peope say they're "animal lovers" because they treat there cat, dog, etc good. but then eat an animal then use products that test on animals.

Dogs are not fashion accessories. Don't hate the dogs in the purses, hate the idiot owners who put them there.

Tell that to my dog. He'd bite you but he doesn't eat S**T. Cats are the real culprit! They are not even a native species to North America and look at all of the animals they kill.
