How many grams of protein can I consume at once?

I am looking to add more protein into my diet. When I was young and just had become a vegetarian, I started to drink whey protein shakes. I was told take a certain amount because your body can only absorb so much protein at one time. How many grams of protein can I consume in one sitting, before my body can no longer process it?

40 to 60 grams daily and it should be complete protein. You can get protein from seeds, nuts, some fruits, and legumes.

That is impossible to answer it is independent for each person. Your metabolism, body size, muscle structure, excercise routine, daily lifestyle, quantity of caloric intake from other sources, age, etc. are all factors to be considered.
Sorry, it just depends as to how much you use. Absorption is not the problem, the body can absorb all it needs. But there are also things that depend on many factors as to how much your body uses for muscle building or as an energy source, enzyme production, etc. There isn't a set answer to your question anyone can give you here.

You do know that whey isn't considered vegetarian friendly?

"Whey and whey powder are usually by-products of the cheese making process which mainly uses animal rennet."
