Negative things about the ingredients in morning star farms products?

I've heard some negative things about morning star farms products- for example, I have heard that all their products are not completely vegetarian/vegan although they claim to be. Is their any truth to this?

I think the controversy is about the eggs they use in their non-vegan products. Here's a link with their response:

They have eggs, which some vegetarians and vegans avoid. I am a lacto-ovo, so I don't care. I LOVE their bacon!

I know most of their stuff has eggs in it (which makes me really sad).

I heard that they just aren't vegan but are vegetarian but I really don't know!

I'm with P.D. . . . I've always suspected that that processed veg*n stuff . . . Morning Start, Boca, etc., etc, are substandard plant material ground up, and loaded with all kinds of flavor enhancers, textures, etc..

You put enough flavoring, spices, etc. in stuff and you can make sawdust taste delicious.

And of course they slap a big markup on it.

some of them contain milk eggs and cheese but other than that i don't know

All of their products are "Vegetarian", if you define a vegetarian as someone who does consume eggs and dairy. However, most of them are not "Vegan" - someone who does not consume eggs and dairy.

A great majority of their products contain egg whites and dairy ingredients - if you look on the bottom of the ingredients list on the food label, there's usually a bold-print statement that says "Allergen information: Contains egg and milk ingredients" or something of that order. BOCA products are not all vegan either, so I'd watch out for that.

Way way way too much garbage. Flavorings (could be anything), preservatives, msg, flavor enhancers, additives, the list is way too long. I'd rather choose something made at home.
