How can they put that in the chocolate? |
Do they use animal bones to whiten the raw cane sugar in green and blacks chocolate. I keep hearing on the internet about they use animal bones in sugars to whiten it. Is it true iam a vegan and the chocolate is for vegetarians and vegans so useing animal bones is wrong. Being a vegan is arble but i dont want to eat meat, fish, dairy cause i heard that the cows blood touches the cows milk. Just make sure the labels verifies whatever you eat as "vegan", and then it is 100%. Its true then, dont believe everything you hear! Report Abuse Many companies DO use bone char to process white sugar, but raw sugar wouldn't go through that step. the reason white sugar is white is because they remove all of the mollasses from it. there are no bones in it. as for the blood touching the milk that is false as well. Anything can happen. I'm allergic to bread, not the gluten, but either the bleach used to make the flour whiter, or the enzymes. Now, enzymes are made from keratin, which can be obtained from chicken feathers. Yes well, one of my English students told me that 'some ethnic minorities' (she named them, but I'm not going to) put hair in dark chocolate. When I said that this was a really non-PC joke, she said it wasn't a joke, she had read it 'somewhere'. Where do such ideas come from? and what's the point? no they do not do this it is a myth spread about by eejits that know nothing When you buy chocolate, or any food for that matter, always check the wrapping for the words "Suitable for Vegetarians" or vegans. Then you'll know you can eat it. If in doubt, check the manufacturers website for details or give them a call on their customer services number. Don't believe rumours and always search the truth for yourself. i have not heard this but i now feel put off eating it I don't know about G&B specifically.Raw cane sugar may not be filtered thru bone char if it is not white. BUY A DIFFERENT KIND OF CHOCOLATE THAT DONT DO THAT. the Internet isn't the best place to find that stuff out, and before you buy chocolate, look at the ingredients for gelatin- that's animal bones in case you didn't know. the sugars? not sure about that. my mom is a MAJOR vegan and she looks at everything before she buys it and makes sure there is no meat, gelatin, etc. and she buys chocolate, too. i think it depends on what type of chocolate. G&B uses *RAW* sugar! It's not whitened!!!! Raw sugar is NEVER touched by bones! No it is not true! It is organic..... I have never heard that. don't believe everything you read or hear, none of it is true WHERE DID YOU HEAR THIS FROM ITS ALL RUBBISH DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR. The cows bleed from the machines that are put on them so blood, most likely, does touch and infect their milk. I pretty much hate labels because of the hidden ingredients. Like gelatin is crushed up animal bone and lard is animal fat. They put gelatin in a lot of things as a preservative and they want you to think it's a jello like substance but it isn't. i thought all g&b choc was veggie??? The producers will be careful to avoid that-their reputation depends on it. This is sold as a vegetarian product, I really dont think the producers would risk the sort of bad publicity that would occur if they used animal bones and then put a vegetarian label on it. Chocolate's bad for you anyway. no green and black do not do this. Anything approved by the vegan society will be vegan - green and black's is fine - I very much doubt they use animal bones to whiten the sugar - I don't think it's very many companies that do do it - if you want to make sure the sugar you buy at home isn't then buy golden sugar. That is true for all processed sugar. Do you really think that vegetarian stuff is strictly from vegetables? They put all kind of crap in it just like they do for normal food. |
