I want to become a vegetarian for health reasons? |
I am 20 years old, love steak, love red meat, love mcdonalds and all that jaaz. How can I become a vegetarian slowly? Has it been proven that vegetarians are skinny and live longer? Here's a plan for transitioning to vegetarianism: http://www.tryveg.com/cfi/toc/?v=06makin... If you want to be healthier on a vegetarian diet then you'll need to cut out the bad fats and junk foods not just switch to eating vegetarian meals. give up the meats you dont lovee mayb pork and then slowly chicken and eventually all meats and then you have to eat lots of veggies It has been proved that people who eat a whole plant based diet live longer and healthier. Studies have shown, that as a country or group of people grow in wealth and more animal meat they consume, the shorter the life span and the more illnesses they get. don't do it there is nothing wrong with meet. life is short why give up something you love. I would give up soda and beer before meet. There is nothing better then a stake. Ok sex is beter that doesn't mean they're skinnier or they live longer because you can still consume sugar and all that sweet stuff, but you can start by getting used to eating more salad. I think the best thing to do would be to continue eating meats, but in a healthy way that doesn't involve fast food restaurants. Meat is not bad for you, just don't eat too much red meat, maybe 2-3 a week. The real problem in people's diets are processed junk that comes from fast food joints. I can say for a fact that a well prepared piece of meat at home is 10 times better than say a bag of chips from the store. There is no nutritional value in snacks and desserts that vegeatarians do eat. I'm not trying to attack vegetarians, but people who don't eat meat for health reasons, should cut down on bad food in general. So I would say that you should just cut down on the meat a little, and cut down on all the sweet and salty junk that most of us eat. Good luck. No it has not been proven that they are skinnier and live longer. Some research that supports it is biased based on organizations like PETA and ELF and other animal rights groups. A well-balanced diet of vegetables, fruits, nuts, dairy, meat, and starch is always the way to go. The best health arguement I've read for being a vegetarian is the book, The China Study. It goes over several studies that were done by real researchers and pretty much proves that eating animal proteins are terrible for you. You can get it pretty much anywhere. Read it, research the info you find in it. and I'm sure you'll be convinced that a diet free of animal products is the only way to go if you care about your health. Its not really healthier. I can see becoming a vegataian for personal reasons but not for health. Ya you can get your protien from beans and what not but in much smaller doses......We didnt evolve and get to the top of the food chain by eating vegtables...Stick with meat dude I'm no big pro at this but here's how i did it |
