How can you stop being a vegetarian, if you don't really like meat?

I have been brought up as a vegetarian but I want to start eating meat. I've tried cold meat and things like bacon and chicken. But I don't like the taste. Any tips would be appreciated!!

Thanks

I want to change because i'm lacking a balanced diet (because i'm quite fussy!)

If you do not like meat than there is no point in changing. Also, just because you eat meat it does not mean you are getting any more balance in your diet. A picky vegetarian is only going to turn into a picky meat eater.

If you really feel the need/desire to eat meat than the only tip anyone can give is to just keep trying different foods. It is your choice how you eat, but do not fool yourself into thinking that you are eating any better because you are incorporating meat(especially since you don't really seem to enjoy it, you are probably limiting what you eat. Variety is always the key to any diet.)

surely you can eat pizza right? get the meat lovers and that should solve your problem.

You realize you're asking vegetarians and vegans how to eat meat, right?

most people think they need balance in there diet(especially if your a veg*n). But the idea of "balance" is overrated. If you think about other animals, humans get carried away with food, probably because we know so much.

Animals just eat what they feel like. Nature didn't make it hard to get by. If you get 3 different fruits, veggies, and beans or nuts a week, that IS enough.

You could take a supplement too. (A to Zinc)

If you don't like meat, don't eat it. Adding meat to an unbalanced diet won't improve matters--you'll go from being a picky vegetarian to a picky omnivore.

Start with stocks / soups and mild meats

I don't eat red meat (and before anyone starts Yeah I know I'm not a vegetarian) and I cant seem to integrate red meats into my diet. I guess if you really don't like meat you just dont. Try to be better at substituting meats with other high protein foods. I wish I liked red meats because it would make cooking for my family a whole lot easier. If its an absolute must try milk meats. I find Halibut a mild fish. Also start one bit at a time. Don't eat a whole wack of meat. No reason 2. Just keep trying different things. It takes sometimes several times to try something before you really like it.

Not sure why you want to change.

If you don't like meat and have no dietary need for it (plenty of protein in nuts, beans, pulses, tofu and dairy products) then I don't see why you should change.

I appreciate this is the answer to a different question, but something to ponder on.

just keep on eatting meet you will like it

If you don't like meat...then why eat it? Seems to me ... you should enjoy eating.

Why do you want to eat something you don't like? I don't like chickpeas, so I don't eat them. :)

If you really must start eating meat, try other kinds of meat, like tuna fish, crab meat, shrimp...

Also, try going to a local steak house or TGIFridays and ordering a 6-8 ounce steak (ribeyes are good) - order it cooked medium if you're in the South - you don't want it too rare. If you're in the North, probably medium-rare or medium. Some restaurants have a guide on the menu.

Good luck! :)

Eating meat is not going to give you a balanced diet

For the most part, you are better off as a vegitarian, although you will have trouble with protein and some vitamins.

Try using chicken soup as a soup base instead of water, or try a dish with very little meat and a lot of other flavorings.

Do you like Mexican? Try a fajita.
What about Chinese food? Go to a buffet and sample stuff.

mix meat with your salad..... and try steak... I really don't think theres anybody in the world that can honestly say they don't like the taste of a good steak.

well its hard to stop if ur already used to it but start small
like meat flavored soup or imitation meat so you can get used to the taste!

kayiies byye<3

dont dude! how much u bet that youll get fat?

If you don't have a balanced diet before meat, you aren't going to have one just by adding it.

if you don't like it...don't eat it!!

if you don't like it, you can't force yourself to eat it
but you could go to a nice resturant and try a meaty dish

eating meat isn't going to solve your problem. it will add new ones.

if you're worried about protein then eat more nuts and beans, if you're worried about B12 get a supplement, for healthy fats have some avocado. there is absolutely nothing that meat can offer to give you a more balanced diet that you can't get from a veg*n diet.

Stay a Vegetarian, we humans werent made to eat meat, our teeth aren't designed to eat meat.Eating meat makes you a cannibal!

just say stop and change ur habits.

Troll. No veg*n in their right mind would ever touch meat with a ten foot pole...

There are quicker ways of killing yourself than contracting cancer or heart disease. There's really no reason to eat meat other than to harm your health. There is nothing healthy about meat.

Stop being so damn picky and eat a well balanced vegetarian diet!

start off slow ,it's an acquired taste .

You could eat fish. Try fish first. If you eat fish your not veggie.

Go to McDonald's and get a double cheese burger. No joke...I was a vegetarian for a long time and when I got pregnant, I decided to eat meat again for my baby and thats how I started back.

my friend you are doing a very good thing, vegeterianism is as bad as cannibalism...except on the other end of the scale. start with chicken boiled..tasteless but with texture.....the texture of meat is one thing that makes it great to eat...no vegetable or freaky soy product can mimic the texture of meat.....like smoking or quitting or losing weight the first steps are the hardest.....bless your brave soul for joining the meat-eating population, and respecting mans position on the food chain
