How long do you have to wait to buy nice furniture? |
I have two children, 2 and 8 months. Here is the probelm. Each time I get my house clean one of the spills something, tinkles, poops or spits up on everything. I swear, potty training is the equivilent to living with an incontinent poodle. You can get nice furniture when they move out and never come back to live. Toddlers have the potty training spills and the sippy cup leaks and the kids have the crayons and of course the permanent markers on the walls and furniture. The older kids are slackers and will play David Lee Roth on the couch and have pizza in the living room when you are not home. The stains will mysterious appear from out of thin air. And then after you think it is all safe you get Grand kids(!!!) If you get leather then you don't have to worry nearly as much because everything just wipes right off. Honestly, I would advise you wait a few more years. I bought a brand new living room set when I got married and after having two kids, it has a few tears and some light colored stains I can't get out! My kids are ages 3 and 2. RTFLMAO!!! The incontinent poodle comment cracked me up!! If you want to buy nice furniture, go ahead and do it...just cover it up with something dark or multicolored and washable. My couch is the equivalent to white trash right now because I DIDN'T cover it, I washed the cushion covers and now they are falling apart. My next couch I buy, I will cover as well as the rest of my stuff that I don't want to be stained with numerous baby "stuff"! You never have really nice furniture when children are toddlers!!! you can get nice stuff when they move out!!!!!!!! lol i know exactly what you mean. my 15 month, 5 and 6 yr olds are dirty mess makers! i mop my floors every day. and vacuum twice a day... Son, 4 yrs and still waiting! Probably not til they move out! Each new age comes with it's own new mess! I keep thinking it will get better, but it just gets different. Teenage boys! Oh God, it's never ending! |
