I am an African American woman with a tattoo. It has reds and greens coloring. Should I have it redone?

My question is should I have the tatto redone (it is about 9 years old) so the color is starting to fade badly. Or should I just leave it alone? I never realized dark skin does not show colors well. Now it just looks like a scar. What is a girl to do.

color on African Americans 9 years ago. You would not have this problem now.
Find a reliable artist and ask him....
I know I could brighten it up for you a
little. But with you skin tone, it's just
not the same.
If it's a flower, which it sounds like it,
maybe try pink instead of red, and light
green instead of dark.

if you like it allot get it redone and it would be worth it if you don't really like it which is probably not the problem since you asked this question well then get it redone

It depends on how much you like it and if it is in a visible area. If you are all right with it fading then don't worry about it. But, it is hard to re-do it once it has turned to scar tissue. It's all based on your preferences.

well 9 years is a long time, and you're obviously preoccupied with this so maybe you should do something about it, talk to a tattoo specialist and they might give you some ideas on how to redo it, or improve it or whatever so you'll like it again

Leave it.....its probably just a season change....

I don't know if you can, but see if you can have it redone in black and grey. If your artist is any good, and the colors have faded as you say, maybe that would be a good route to go. I think you may be able to have it re-done but you may have to either take better care of it, or find a better artist!
