Strange reaction to a photo with a tattoo?

My honey and I just got pictures taken and I was showing them to a friend. She saw them and said "oh wow, she had her tattoo (on her calf) showing." This woman also has tattoos. I said why should she hide them. Like my honey said, "if you are ashamed of a tattoo, you shouldn't have gotten it in the first place." Do you agree or disagree? Do you hide your tattos when photographed? PersonallyI am glad my honey is proud of her tattos.

I agree. My tats are in places where I can show them if I want to. But they all have a meaning and reason and stand for something so I show them proudly

for some people they are private, or maybe the tatto in itself was not completed yet, who knows... i love my tattoo's and i have one on my calf as well so whenever i where shorts everyone can see it and they will usually ask me what it means.

I have several tattoos and so does my wife. She needs to cover hers as she works with the public. I never cover mine to hide them nor does my wife. We're not ashamed of anything we've got tatted and none of our tats are rude, lewd or offensive.

I have 36 ranging in size. I dont hide mine in photo's. The photo is of me and they are a very big part of me. I agree with your honey. Why try to hide something thats a part of you and your proud of it?

Some people got their tattoos a long time ago...and they regret. Maybe they're not the same person they were back than. some maybe its a privacy thing ...only for her eyes

I don't hide my bodyart, I figure if someone does not like what I have they really don't have to look. I agree, if you are ashamed of a tattoo then why get it? =)

Your tattoo is exactly that- yours. If you wanna hide it, go ahead. and if you don't want to, then don't! Do whatever you want with them and screw the people who comment or care.

It's very true what your honey says "if you are ashamed of a tattoo, you shouldn't have gotten it in the first place". Tattoos are not something you should be ashamed of, when you get a tattoo they are apart of you so why not show them off.

No, you should not have to hide your tattoos when photographed. Surely she didnt get the tattoo to hide it in the first place! Be proud of the tattoo and show it off dammit! If others dont like, then its a good thing that its not their tattoo!!!
