How can I build a successful relationship with a woman i just met?

I recently met this woman 3-weeks ago and found her very interesting. We have been talking for only a few weeks now and I know true romance do not come at an instant, but I would like to know are there any methods to build a strong foundation in this relationship for it can be a long-term relationship instead of short-term and doomed to disaster like most relationships.

A successful relationship like anything else has to be built on a firm foundation. What are the building blocks of that foundation? Solid materials like respect, truth and honesty. A lot of times when we meet a person we try to impress them, going so far as to misrepresent who and what we are just to win them over. After we get into the relationship, our true nature appears and appears to turn the person off.

First of all, I would establish a friendship. Unfortunately in this day and age, we don't do old fashioned courting like our parents and grandparents did, we jump right into bed with a person. Do some self inventory. What do you like, what are your pet peeves, what do you believe in and espouse? What do you want in a mate? Engage her in conversation. It doesn't have to be hard, just light fare to break the ice and get an idea of what kind of person she is and what her expectations are. Meet her family, if you can. See how they interact. Have dinner with them and observe their customs. And while you may(or may not) think it to be old fashioned or outdated, keep it hands off. Don't become physically intimate with her. That will just spoil any friendship that might develop. After doing these things, if you find that in some way you're not compatible and that it would be best not to pursue the relationship, at least your and her dignity and honor will be intact and you can maintain a healthy respect fo one another. Be honest, so that your relationship has a strong foundation. Be patient, because as you know, things take time. Be open and stay open, because open communication helps create a tight bond. Pay attention to what she says, because you may ask her what she wants, and she might not be able to answer that...but the little things she comments about every day, will help you really understand her.

I find that communication is essential to any relationship, it's a good foundation to start with. Once you have good communicating skills everything else will come easy.
