What is your definition of a being in a exclusive relationship?

I just wanted to know how people view a exclusive relationship and what all does it invlove. serious answers only please!!!

An exclusive relationship means that you are not dating other people. Exclusive would mean boyfriend/girlfriend. It involves two people who only want to be with that person. Love and trust are essential.

It means that you and your partner verbally agree that you will not date anybody else. You also can discuss a goal, like do you both want to eventually get married? You can decide now what your physical relationship will be like. At this point in my relationship with my husband, we laid down boundaries concerning physical affection. Such as no touching anything that'd be covered by a swimsuit, no kissing while sitting on the couch, no being left alone in an empty house. We were successful and on our wedding night finally got to do all those things, and more :) that we'd been waiting patiently for. Hope these answers help.

Where I come from, an exclusive relationship usually referred to marriage. One woman, one man, that was it. You gave the entirety of yourself to that one person, forsaking all others. Sure it seems to be the exception nowadays with everyone practicing the Fourier lifestyle, meaningless relationships only for the sex with little real intimacy or emotional or intellectual involvement with others. Exclusive relationships are not taken seriously anymore on a majority level.

Honestly, it means we have sex and an understanding that it is only the two of us. It involves some version of saying, "you're the only one I'm interested in."

An exclusive relationship defines itself. That's it in a nutshell.

Your only involved with that person... whatever level your relationship is at... it is only with that person. No outside interference.
