ugh, was at a pub once and a girl (stranger to me) was talking to this guy then she pivots and points to me. . . "I'm with Him", then she walks away, leaving me with the guy . . . was a crazy night.

So yea, just point to the biggest guy in the room and say, "I'm with Him"

If you have your guy/ girl friends (don't know if you are gay) with you and arrange for them to be your pretend partner. Because sometimes if you say that you are not single, some guys will still try it on.

someone you don't know? so many girls don't realize that if they're flaunting their stuff (ie: low cut shirt, mini skirt), ALL guys are going to give them attention. Not just the Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise looking guys - so don't be all upset when some 50-something beer bellied guy is checking you out!

If you're at a bar or something, just say you have a boyfriend. If it's someone you know, just tell them you're not interested in dating anyone right now. You're too busy with school or work or something. Don't say that you just want to be friends, because that just makes the guy think, "Oh, I'll become her friend and then make her fall in love with me."

Gemma, i honestly feel that the best way is the most direct way, politely of course, if that fails then you must be even more forceful. when blokes have had a drink, for some reason they start to think that they are irresistable and just keep trying, you have to be more forceful than the alcohol. good luck.

i've had this problem a few times, and often politeness gets nowhere, i end up often just whispering in their ear 'bog off mate', it does work!

Try just ignoring it at first. If that doesn't work, you may have to say flat out "I'm sorry, but I'm really not interested" and walk away.
