What is the real reason behind all these home makeover shows? |
Daytime TV is full of them, primetime TV is full of them, just what is the sinister reason behind this eternal onslaught of TV makeover shows and house buying rubbish. They all seem to point the consumer towards SELLING their home rather than living in it. Its only helped push up prices and exlude those with meagre incomes from the housing ladder. Frankly, shows like this.... only promote or make people think they can get richer by fixing up their home with this dream makeover. In reality, the market is so bad off, in a few years houses will go cheaply because realtors can't sell them. Actually, I enjoy watching makeover shows. to tell people how useless they are and that you have to get people in to do the work for you. I don't believe that these programmes are about getting you to sell (or buy) your home. Sure, that's what they focus on but they are really about economy. Reality shows are far cheaper to make than those employing professionals since many people think that it's reward enough to appear "on the telly". Just aspire to being on the telly. |
