How can i keep my toddler out of the refrigerator?

My 17 month old has discovered how to open up the refrigerator. As cute as it may be to watch my dd in the refrigerator standing up, it can be quite frustrating at times as she constantly takes everything out of it. Do they make anything that I could use to lock the refrigerator?

The do make different kinds of refridge locks. You should be able to get them at a baby supply store. I think Toys R Us or Babies R Us carries them. Also something like Target in the baby section might.

Yes, they make refrigerator locks. I would look at hardware stores and maybe even dieting websites.

As for it being "cute". Suffocation in refrigerators is a real problem and many toddlers have died from becoming trapped inside. Get those locks fast! Or pull over a piece of heavy furniture and block the door to protect your child.

A lock would work but teaches the child nothing- you need to teach her not to get in the fridge. Every time she starts to open it -say NO in a loud voice and move her to something else - it will take a while and you have to do it everytime you catch her getting into it.

Go to Walmart and buy a lock for it.It will be in the baby dept. and it looks like a plastic strap. Only 2.00 each.

put him inside? that would be thoughtless and dangerous,, duct tape fix all would work the grey tape used for everything , however when my kidz were little i just put things at they re level they could eat,, i would make snack plates every other hour or so healthy stuff,, u could make it a good thing just tell em that is there shelf and go with em to pick something to eat and then say all done and close the fridge and if the child is too young to understand put a piece of duct tape on it its a good way to teach them to eat healthy tho so i would strongly suggest making a little shelf just for your little guy,, good luck and have patience,

put him inside of it for like 20 minutes, then he'll be afraid to go near it again
