Is it bad to eat too many raw chillis? |
What is a healthy level? Are there and long term health risks? I'm from SE Asia and when you talk of chillies I conjure up images of two types of vegetables , one type red and the other green. These can be two to 4 inches long , sometimes fat and succulent and sometimes they are thinner or slimmer. To me , these chilli do not sting when eaten although many people disagree. I could blend a few dozen of these , add water and a touch of salt and black pepper and gulp it down in one go. too any chillis can irritate your stomach and may cause cancer If you enjoy the pleasures of oral sex, then yes. Any spicy food if eaten in excess is bad for you. Great when you have a cold, because the spices warm you from the inside and help fight off the bug. It has been known to desolve the stomach lining causing ulcers and sometimes stomach and/or bowel cancer. dont know about the health of the person eating them but cant be good for your friends who have to put up with the smell you would emit !! Capsacin (the bit that makes it hot) can cause damage to your taste buds if you eat too many. (I grow my own chillis and have lost taste, but it always comes back). Only problem is the possible ring sting when they exit at the other end... :) Anything in excess is going to be harmful over the medium or long term. Ouchhhhhh! I heard that eating chillis was supposed to kill off cancer cells only your sphincter knows for sure. Raw chillis taste awful. I think they are good for your health and doubt they could harm you in large amounts. don't worry about it, you only live once. They're good for the immune system, but inexcess could tear up your stomach lining, not to mention what the exit feels like |
