What is the difference between love and enfatuation?

I have been with my girlfriend for nearly 6 months. weve spent a good 3 hours a day with eachother. we have almost everything in common. we had a problem once, and we tried to stop wanting eachother, but neither of us could do it. what is love and what is enfatuation?

Love = one has to care about the other as much as for oneself, and to relate to the entire person (including needs, problems and shortcomings - if the person has a problem, you are supportive, "there" for the person, concerned, connected and accepting, you look to justify and understand and exonerate and help and explain the negatives, and still accept the person and appreciate and enjoy the positives),

Infatuation.... is typically all-possessing pie-in-the-sky love that can take a person's mind over. That love fills some emotional need but only remains while not challenging, threatening or taking away from what the love-object psychologically represents and provides.

You're infatuated. you wouldnt even be askin this question of you was in love. and you cant be in love if you WANT each other. how can you want your girlfriend, she aint an object or something that you just have sex with. you dont want each other or need each other, you just love each other and so happens that you're together, because you love each other. it's love that brings you together, not the need to be together. if you dont know what im talkin about, too bad.

enfactuation is something that you cant control you want this person alot but if something happened to where you cant see this person you can get over it in a few days. Love is when you need this person to be around you cant live without them you will do anything for them no matter what it is you get butterflies when you know that this person is near by. And you cant keep a smile off of your face when they speak. And you cant stay mad at this person for long.

Love is for ever...long term. enfatuation is temporary you know for the time being.

Infatuation is "Wow, this person is GREAT!" Love starts there and gets even better.

Difference # 2: Infatuation is the fuzzy feeling you get about someone you are attracted to. Love goes beyond that. Love is what makes you feel secure in a relationship after having a huge argument with that person. Love makes you think more about the other person's interest, safety, etc than your own.

Love is feeling attracted to someone but also wanting the best for them...enfatuation is wanting from someone what will make you feel good...you have to figure out if you really LOVE them or if you just want to use them to make yourself feel good.

Enfatuation is when one thinks they are in love with that person, but in reality it's really lust. Love is when you will be there for that person no matter what, you may have differences but you still love that person for who they are. Love does not waver and it will withstand any test, if it's true love.
