What is the best way to win over my girlfriends mom? |
Even before we met, her mom has hated me. One of her biggest problems is our 7 year difference. She is 19 and I am 26. Does any one have advice as to ways I could get her mom to hate me less or even better, start liking me? well just let her know that you canm offer her daughter a good life and show her that your not using her (thats most likely what shes thinkjng) and let her know that you have good intentions with her,not much you can do really just try to kill her with kindness and just make her daughter happy at the end of the day thats all any parent wants for their child speaking as a mom - you are pretty much screwed...she doesn't have to like you, and if she never did - she never will. ESPECIALLY if she thinks you have taken her daughter's "innocence" away... Just treat her daughter right with respect, eventually she'll see that you are a good person regardless of your age. by treating her daughter with love and respect and kindness and eventually she will come around... I was once in a relationship where my parents HATED my boyfriend. He was only 2 years older than me, but it was bad. I had to lie about everything. As much as it sucks to say it really has alot to do with the girl. You cant be a gentleman or open doors or be sweet if the mom isnt open to hearing things. I had to talk to my mom to convince her that she has raised her daughter well and if I like him there has got to be something good about him. My STRICT old-fashioned mom belived that, so try having your girlfriend talk to her. Its really importaint to have the family like you, its really unhealthy for your relationship if they dont. But really you cant do anything until your given the chance, so when and if (hopefully you are) given a shot blow her out of her mind. go ALL out because really that will show how much you care about her daughter to go throw all that. only one way... invite her to come along to a movie she would like or coffee... from time to time, hold doors open, pay, totally polite but don't pretend or she will drop the hammer on an act. politeness in speech and better in cooking would impress any woman |
