Should a woman 40 or older wear bangs?

A woman of any age should wear her hair however she likes. If she's happy with it, and feels good with it, then anybody else's opinion is immaterial.

If it suits her face, then why not? Age has nothing to do with style.

Bangs are okay, but I personally think that older women look classier with shorter hair, shoulder length or above.

She should have her hair how ever she likes it regardless of what others think. It's self image that matters most. Age is irrelevant.

with all the unbelievable ways people express themselves....i think bangs and long hair at any age is hardly an issue...its harmless......and its you.....but i also know how people can really be cruel when they decide to tell you they don't like it.......

i tried other styles but they weren't me...so I figure....its me.....i like it.....and i don't really care...especially when some of the ones making the comments are.....well, i hate to be cruel...

That would depend on the shape of the woman's face and hairstyle. Bangs with an up-do looks very nice on an older woman. I wore bangs most of my life and only stopped a few years ago when my hair fell out from my meds. My hair is in such bad shape now that I wear wigs or scarfs most of the time. And, yes, all of my wigs have either partial or full bangs and I'll never see my 55th birthday again. Think about it like this: If you're old enough to wear the RED HAT at RED HAT SOCIETY MEETINGS, and somebody doesn't like your hair, they'll probably just think you are eccentric anyway. I just tell 'em I'm crazy and have papers to prove it!

I'm not a big fan of the "women that age should/should not" point of view. Some people will look good in bangs, and some people will not.

Yes, a woman over 40 should wear a bang. I think women over 40 can wear anything they want to wear. I wear bangs all the time and get all kind of compliments and my hair is shoulder length. I also wear it up sometime, down, just whatever way I want to. Wear you bang, and wear it with pride.

Age should not be a deterrent. Rather age...tempered by experience...should allow one the 'freedom' to try different things.

Hon, sure, why not? I have straight platinum blonde hair and I have bangs and I am 58 years old, it looks good on me, so it should look good on you too. I say, whatever floats one's boat, then do it.
