What is the difference between beautiful and pretty?(of a woman)?

Beauty is what is on the outside and yet reaches all the way into the depths of the soul. Whereas, pretty is only an outwards appearance which can be cosmetically enhanced and yet, beauty comes from within.

To me a woman is pretty when she has those typical symmetrical features and curves many models and minor celebrities have. A woman is beautiful when she radiates a certain grace, a contained passion and sexuality, when she resonates all those spiritual qualities that make the mind of a woman unique. It is in the way she walks, the look in her eyes, her smile. Less pretty girls who have that quality, that aura are often more beautiful.

for me beautiful for women just look from outside and pretty come from inside like attitude not their face...

Pretty is a woman who has a nice appearance. When I think of a beautiful woman, I think of a woman who is attractive to people AND has great CHARACTER.

Beauty can be on the inside and out....pretty is on the outside alone.

i think when people say your beautiful they really mean it and you feel good bout yourself... when someone says your pretty i think its just one of them compliments you get away with like... you look ok.. its fine...

i think beautiful covers everything, a woman's personality, the way she carries herself, and then her physical appearence.

pretty only covers her looks.

but most people use beautiful when they mean pretty and pretty when they mean beautiful, so it doesn't count so much in casual conversation.
