Gevalia Coffee: Is it really a scam?

Gevalia is definitely not a scam - and it's really good coffee. In Sweden it's one of the top premium coffee brands sold in grocery stores but in the US you have to do mail order. BUT you also have to sign up for a subscription and you have to understand the terms and conditions regarding cancellation. My parents have been getting it for 4 years and love it.

The reason people call it a scam is because they don't realise that by signing up for most of their introductory offer, you are usually signing up for a 1 year subscription that will send you coffee and charge your credit card every month. It's all there in Gevalia's T&Cs on the website but 99% of people don't read or understand T&Cs when signing up for any website

A scam would be if they were charging your card and not sending you coffee

My mom received a magazine in the mail that had a form in it about Gevalia Coffee. It says that you can send away for this "I love coffee kit" that includes a coffee maker and two half-pound boxes of their coffee. But then again, there's all these reports that Gevalia is a scam.

1. Is Gevalia Coffee really a scam?

2. If the problem is that they'll get your credit card number, then what if I order it using a $25 gift card (the order only costs $14.95, so it should go through, since I always order stuff using gift cards)?
