Blonde Brownies

1/2 C. butter (room temp.)

1/3 C. granulated sugar

1/2 C. brown sugar

1 large egg

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

1 1/3 C. All-Purpose flour

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9x13 pan. Beat butter and both sugars in large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add egg,vanilla, flour, salt, and baking soda, and mix until well blended. Spread batter in pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool before cutting.

Makes 9 brownies.

For a more chocolatey version, add 1 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips into batter or sprinkle on top.
