What's the difference between love and caring for someone?

When you are in a serious relationship how do you know the difference between being in love with someone and caring for someone? im wondering what is technically the difference between loving someone and just caring for them? anyone know what im talking about

Bried overview of the situation i am pertaining too....me and my husband are having some problems and almost at a rate of divorce and im trying to figure out if i really do love him or if i just care for him and dont want to leave him because it know it will hurt him.....i love him and want to be with him but on the same token i want to leave and be single again...its hard to decifer the difference..

Caring is more of a friendly behavior/feeling.
Being in love is profound; you want to be with them.

love means u wanna have him/her as ur life partener and wanna do things which u know wat...care is wart u feel for your parents ...

You can love someone and also care for them. I don't see much difference. Maybe you are trying to discern the diff between love and infatuation? Both of these emotions are very difficult to separate. I like to think that infatuation brings a couple together but after years of marriage it's love that keeps them going. When your partner is sick and incapacitated would you care enough about them to tend to their daily needs? ALL their daily needs...toilet necessities too. Do you care enough or are you infatuated enough to give up your life so they might live? That's a dumb question I know but you get the idea.

Love is not an emotion. Love is a conscious commitment.

When you love someone the caring feeling is there too, but not in the other way around.
You care for family members, friends, etc.
Love never comes by itself.
Sounds to me that you are not in love anymore!
You wouldn't have any doubt of it if you were.
Thanks God we still have lots of relationships that after stopping to love one to another they don't lose the caring feeling for each other.
Caring is the good feeling of almost love someone.

Loving is more of a longer term than caring. Loving is being more committed than caring. You may care and not necessarily love, but it's not love if you don't care. I don't love you but I care to answer. I guess some may care to answer you coz they love you.

It's just words, there is no real difference.
